Virtual Powerhouse Of Air

This "industrial air" unit is awesome!
We only had 10-3 electric supply wire. And the salesman found me this unit. It recovers as good or better than the Quincy equivalent.

Solid Compressor

Review Posted 08/18/2022
Appears to be solidly built I only have 1.5 hours on it. Had to tighten some fittings as it had slow leak. Pressure switch cuts out at 160 not 175, not a big deal as my regulators only go to 150. I do not think I will even pursue this issue. Has good CFM does all I need air tools and painting. I bought the maintenance kit to extend warranty to 4 years. I also installed an hour meter to keep track of hours. So far all good.

Blame It All On COVID-19 - Logistic Communication:
By Mark A.
Fort Valley, Georgia
Purchased 04/15/2021 |
Review Posted 05/03/2021
My comments are not directed toward the Industrial Air Compressor but more at the Logistics management and communication in which I had to painfully endure. My Industrial Air Compressor took 5-6 weeks before the first delivery. The lack of communication on the delivery schedule was disappointing at best. The Industrial Air Compressor arrived by truck laying on its side. I did not accept delivery. I called and reported the non-acceptance of the Industrial Air Compressor to Air Compressor Direct. I was promised a call to provide a new shipping and arrival date. Two weeks later I received an email stating that my Industrial Air Compressor had delivered. But in reality, the email was for the damage Industrial Air Compressor arrived back at the manufacture. So in reality the company does not release the new replacement unit until the damaged Industrial Air Compressor is recovered at the manufacture. About 10 days later I received the undamaged Industrial Air Compressor. The Industrial Air Compressor is operational and holding pressure. The bottom line is would I purchase an Industrial Air Compressor again or recommend the Industrial Air Compressor. The answer is yes. I would not recommend Air Compressors Direct very disappointed. I am sure this will all be blamed on COVID-19 and not the fact that the communication was unsatisfactory.

Limited Use, No Issues So Far

Purchased from ACD late 2020 while it was on sale & backordered. Selected for the descent CFM for the size, slow pump speed and price compared to the perceived quality of the components. Note: while this unit says it spins the pump at 767 rpm, Industrial Air's own parts list says the max pump speed should be 650 RPM. Asking ACD about this, they provided the manufacturers technical support toll free number. Since this compressor will see light use in my home, I wasn't too concerned and decided not to follow up with the manufacturer.
Unit arrived undamaged, covered in plastic, bolted on metal plates to a pallet with some wood protecting the sides and top. Unfortunately it Was fastened to the pallet with carriage bolts with the threads up. This put the head down with the hex under the head pulled only into the wood. I was unable to stop the bolts from spinning so there was no way to remove the nuts. I used an angle grinder with a thin cut off wheel to grind through the bolts above the compressor feet, between the nut and washer.
Set the unit on anti-vibration pads and shimmed it level. Discovered the pump was a few ounces low on oil. Used oil from the warranty kit to top it off to the red dot.
Mine filled from 0 to a 170 PSI cut out pressure in about 5 min 45 seconds. (note - if you fill from 0 the tank warms so pressure will drop slightly as the air in the tank cools - it's not leaking) Noise level seems reasonable. Unit is leak free, all fasteners tight, belt in good alignment, black powder coating looks good. No issues with the build.
One annoyance - the red knob on the Condor pressure switch vibrates and buzzes. I stopped it by wrapping a rubber band between the shaft and cover mounting screw on the inside to keep tension on the knob. I also wrapped a small rubber band around/under the knob on the outside.
I wish it came with a remote drain. I added one. I also added an hour meter to track usage.
Only 1 hour of run time so far, which includes the break in period at minimal pressure. Am happy with the compressor. Be sure to budget for the items you'll need or want such as the electrical installation, pipe fittings, ball valves, hose whip, filter, regulator, lines, remote drain, etc.

Great Compressor
By Eugene M.
Enterprise, Alabama
Purchased 01/25/2020 |
Review Posted 03/11/2020
I purchased this compressor to replace an overworked 2hp Eagle compressor. I have a small/medium sized shop. The Eagle (while also a good compressor) just could not keep up. I have only had the new compressor for about 6 weeks, but so far it has performed flawlessly. Just today we were simultaneously running a small blast cabinet, powder coating booth, and laser engraver. No shortage of air and the compressor was working well short of 50% on time. It's a beast! Also my desiccant drier now only needs to be recharged once a week instead of every other day. Wish I had done this a long time ago.
Shipping was less than a week to my door. Unit was well packed.

Update

Compressor arrived without oil in pump, received oil. The unit won't build to pressure to 175 psi and cuts out at 160 psi then leaks down to 155 /150psi. In just about an hour. Called ACD and MAT Industries, no support to warranty. MAT wants to send me the part to work on myself but they told me I couldn't wire it when first installed and paid an electrician to do it but now they want me to install a new pressure switch which requires the same wiring. I have not heard from them yet on this matter.

No Oil In Compressor On Arrival
By Mitchell N.

I can't say much about performance yet because I'm waiting for an electrician. I would do it myself but I don't want to lose the warranty. The compressor arrived with no oil. I called ACD as well as the manufacturer and sent in paperwork but haven't heard anything yet. I used oil from the maintenance kit.

Seems Decent Quality Time Should Tell

One problem I dislike was wiring. Everything suppose to be in conduit but yet the pressure switch does not have a knock out for conduit its seems to be set up for a clamp for pigtail. Went to lots problems to find out were this was made even though it looks like made in USA. The tank is made in USA but the pump and motor are not the made in USA. Sticker says made in USA with some foreign parts. I had to call manufacturer to find out this info. Hopefully I have no problems do yourself a favor, if you buy this buy the maintenance kit to double the warranty. It has 6 quarts oil 3 new belts and 3 new air filters
