Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
I want to add a battery power supply to my existing sewerage pump. It runs on a 20A circuit. I don't want to have to buy an entire system, just a battery backup. What do you recommend?

Answer
Thank you for your interest in Sump Pumps Direct. There currently is no battery capable of powering a 120 volt primary sump pump. The only possible options would be an Auxiliary Power System which will operate up to a 1/2HP pump for up to 10-12 hours continuous or 40 hours non-continuous, a complete BATTERY BACKUP sump pump system or looking into the possibility of installing a smaller, 7000-8000 watt, STANDBY GENERATOR.
One other option might be a COMBINATION SUMP PUMP SYSTEM. Some of these systems can fit into a sump basin as small as 10" wide by 14" deep.
