A Beast
By Kevin K.
Fletcher, North Carolina
Purchased 06/18/2019 |
Review Posted 07/11/2019
This is an upgrade from my 80 gallon big box stores air compressors that crapped out every two years in a production environment. It was easy to install and the sound (though much more powerful from the engine) is negligible. Quincy just exudes quality.

Worth The Moolah

Starting with shipping, from other reviews I thought the crating was going to be better. It came with just a wood frame, which on mine was in rough shape but did the job, no damage upon arrival. What I didn't expect is that this came with break-in oil already in the crank case, NICE! Installation was what I was expecting, but man, this thing is heavy, very well built. I dragged my old Rand 60 gal out with ease, you can tell the quality difference just in the moving.
I think I read somewhere someone griping about not having much space for electrical connections, I'm not sure why I didn't have any trouble with the wiring.
This thing is a little louder than I expected but decent. Certainly quieter than the Rand. Having the larger tank and the higher pressure this doesn't cycle very often which anyone can appreciate.
I gave 4 stars on value due to the warranty kit. I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened the box, but what I didn't expect is to see only 6 quarts of oil and an air filter, obviously, you are paying for the extra warranty length. Not that I'm regretting this, just would have been nice to know.

5-HP Quincy Upright 80 Gallon

Easy delivery and easy installation. It’s super quiet and a great upgrade over what I had. Keeps up with a sandblaster, but I kind of wish I had gone with the 7.5-HP. This one will be fine for years to come I’m sure

Love The Quincy Compressor!

I have a shop on my property and I was lacking a larger compressor for painting and auto sanders and other air tools. I wanted a reliable unit.
I rated all of the 80 gallon units and saw that the Quincy had the highest and most positive responses. Also noticed the much lower run time versus other models. Very pleased!

I bought this air compressor hoping it would be quiet- It is. Keeps up great air pressure while in use. Made in America.
It is top heavy so be careful uncrating it.

Mostly "So Far, So Good"
By Lindley S.

The compressor arrived safely and the driver was helpful and courteous.
I would have liked to have an hour meter be part of the unit. The unit was as quiet as could be expected.
I have run the compressor 3 hours and the overload switch cut the power 4 times so far. Granted, I used 80 psi in my bead blast cabinet more or less continuously for perhaps 35 minutes at a time, but my prior QT-5 virtually never tripped the thermal switch.
