I've had an HD1600 for 13 years and it worked fine for all those years. Within the last two years, it started having some problems where the compressor would not shut off, but still usable. It got to the point now that it's leaking water from the inlet section. I am now trying to find a kit where I can replace all the "O" rings, (7). I can't find the exact O rings at any local shop. At times, I could have used a higher-pressure washer.

My neighbor had this new unit in her garage for two years, never used it. I pulled it out yesterday. It worked great for five minutes.
The unit kicks in electrically when the trigger is depressed, however, no high pressure. I checked entire system and found no restrictions. I had only the variable pressure wand PN: PA6630GF.
For inspection,I removed the end cap by lifting outward the two retaining tabs with the small holes, then pulling forward on the tip cover, exposing the flat stainless steel deflector plates and brass orifice. I reinstalled the wand, started the unit and water sprayed out of the plastic wand revealing a fine crack along the wand at the tip where the two halves were glued together from the factory. This is a factory warranty item! Now to find out where to get a free replacement!
PWD RESPONDS: Powerwasher products have a 1 year Factory Warranty from the day it is delivered; that's why it's so important to check your unit out as soon as you get it; so the warranty has expired.
You can give the folks at Powerwasher a call, toll free, at (800) 381-0999 for a replacement wand.
Pressure washer Owner's Manuals describe squeezing the spray trigger before starting the motor, and letting the water run through the unit for a little bit to get all the air out of the pump. Not doing this can result in a vapor lock, and no high pressure.

I bought this unit to power wash my deck every other year. The first time I used it, for a total of three hours, it worked fine. I tried to use it the second time, and it will not run.
Multiple emails to Powerwasher customer service produced two confirmations with ticket codes and a promise of a response in one or two business days. It's been weeks and not a word in spite of more emails to follow up. Apparently, Powerwasher's customer service is as deficient as the product.
Run, don't walk, from this manufacturer. It would have been a total waste of money at one quarter the price.
PWD RESPONDS: You may want to check your junk mail/Spam folder in case your email filtered out a response; or give the folks at Powerwasher a call, toll free, at (800) 381-0999. Be sure to have the serial number of your unit handy when you call.
Be sure to store your pressure washer with a pump saver product in the years you don't use the unit, and make sure it doesn't freeze wherever it's stored.

2 don't work

When my wife and I decided to buy a powerwasher she took it upon herself to buy it. She was watching one of those TV channels when they advertised this model and she fell for the ad. When we went to use it it worked fine for about 20 minutes and then quit.
We couldn't get it to run again even after unplugging it and letting it sit. The next day I tried it again and the same thing happened. My guess, as an engineer, is that the thermal overload protection built into the unit keeps failing. Dont waste you time or money on any item that you cant count on to work when you need it.
The worst thing was my wife decide to finish the projects we still had to finish so she went and bought another Powerwasher 1750 PSI model and it did the same thing. Now we have two Powerwasher brand machines that don't work.

The power washer has been used once and only did a minimal job, however, I do not think I am using it properly.
The manual is not clear enough and I cannot find a number where I can call. I would appreciate it very much if there is a tech support person that can call me to discuss.

You will need to give them a call. Be sure to have the serial number from your unit handy; they will ask for that when they answer the phone.
Sometimes folks leave the nozzle in the low pressure setting and are disappointed with the performance of the pressure washer.
Depending on the model you can either twist or pull the nozzle to switch from low pressure detergent application to high pressure cleaning.

So far not so good,but hopeful

We live in a 2,145 square foot town house with a finished basement / family room. It has an exterior door leading to lower patio.
My wife saw this unit on a shopping show with all the goodies. I was talking about investing in one and she mentioned it to me. So I waited until the next day to see how many units were being sold.
Well, these things were selling like they were going out of style- therefore, I purchased one. l I was very pleased with the unit, initially.
I cleaned my walkway, siding, patio and upper deck. The PWS1600HSA did what I was hoping for. I put the unit away for the rest of the season in a climate-controlled environment storage closet in my basement/family room.
Unfortunately, when I pulled it out this season, excited to use because of the performance last season, it would not start up. I am an extremely handy individual. I installed my own kitchen for goodness sakes. I tried everything, even what the online help center said to do.
The LED light is on, but the pump would not come on. My wife was able to find the phone number for PowerWasher, which is 1-800-381-0999. I called them and I am shipping the unit to them. I must say I am very big on customer service and they are great, both on the phone and via email.
I received a response within an hour. We will see how it goes. I'm not angry, just disappointed. I am in sales and you get what you pay for.
I would recommend the 1600 or some type of inexpensive powerwasher. They do just what they advertised it would, but just purchase the extended warranty if they offer one; it's worth the extra expense.
