How to Track Shipping Delays
Severe weather, like blizzards, tropical storms, and hurricanes, can have a devastating, lasting impact on infrastructure in affected areas. Evacuations, road closures, and supply-chain shortages
can make shipping power equipment and supplies
difficult.
Power Equipment Direct prepares as much as possible
by stocking our warehouse and distribution centers
before
the season so that we can get your products shipped to you when a storm strikes.
To monitor your shipment, you will need to know your shipping carrier. Identifying your carrier is simple. Once your product has shipped, we will send you a shipping notification email listing the carrier and tracking info to make it easy for you to take delivery, or reach out directly to the carrier, should you have any questions.

Product Availability
Panic buying sets in very quickly during an emergency. By the time you drive down to the hardware store, the shelves are bare, and you realize everyone else had the same plan. In this case, the internet is your best bet for finding the equipment you need.
When shopping online, it's important to see what's in stock. In-stock items will ship quicker than items shipped directly from the manufacturer, or those that are on backorder. Luckily, you can filter your results to shop "In-Stock Only". That way, you will only see products that are currently in-stock and ready to ship.
Tracking Your Shipment
After placing an order, you will begin receiving shipping notifications from either FedEx or a Freight Carrier.
Most shipments
over 150 pounds
are made using
freight carriers
and loaded on trailers. Smaller products
under 150 pounds
may ship using
ground shipping
and
may
be eligible for
2nd-Day and Next-Day Air.
Once your order is on a truck, you will receive a tracking number to
track your shipment
with e-mail notifications. Severe weather can cause service disruptions that are outside of anyone's control, so we encourage you to stay up to date on information impacting your area.
Pick Up at a Local Freight Terminal
If you order equipment that ships by freight carrier and want to shave time off of the delivery, we
STRONGLY RECOMMEND
contacting the freight carrier to see if you can pick up your order at their local freight terminal.
Again, once your order is placed and shipped, you will receive an email with a
tracking number
and the
name of the freight carrier
for your order.
Please Note:
You must call the freight carrier to arrange a pickup. Products are not stocked at shipping terminals. All orders will ship from one of our warehouses before they arrive at the local freight terminal.
You will need to bring a photo ID that matches the name on the order to receive your order. Your order will not be released if it doesn't match.
