Jim,
I need to replace my Flotec laundry tray pump system which is getting ready to celebrate its 20th birthday. I really want to buy the Zoeller 105-0001. It looks like a great product. Could I get a copy of the installation manual with the dimensions for the tank and the input and output locations?
Plus, I don't see a float switch. What triggers the pump to turn on and off?
Thank You,
Ray

How many vertical feet and horizontal feet can this pump?
Katherine
from Virginia
January 02, 2015
Answer
The Zoeller 105-0001 can handle a maximum total head of 19 feet. That said, you typically don't want to max out the ability of the pump so I would recommend keeping that total head at more in the 12 - 16 foot range. The total head takes into account the total vertical lift and FRICTION LOSS based on long horizontal runs and the number of elbows that you incorporate into your discharge configuration.

Jim,
Can the discharge on these be reduced to fit a tight install. Also Can it use different style vent
Lloyd

Answer
The Remote Sink/Drain Systems must be installed using the same diameter discharge and venting as instructed in the manual, 1-1/2" discharge and 2" vent. Venting must be done in accordance to local codes. This Zoeller system does however, allow for a few different installation methods, based on your clearance. DO NOT USE AN AUTOMATIC PLUMBING VENT DEVICE SIMILAR TO A "PRO-VENT". Some states require this product to be installed by a licensed plumber.

Dear Jim- I want to make sure this is what I'm looking for because the drain basin seems small. I would like to drain a washing machine into a basin and have that pumped into a drain line, are these the correct products, are these basins large enough to handle the discharge from a washing machine?
Thank You

Answer
The basin on the Zoeller is 5.8 gallons. The pump will handle 2040GPH at a 10 foot head and should not have any problems handling the discharge from any washing machine.

Installing an underground sump pump to drain water coming under the house. Was thinking about ordering the following kit, but I am not sure if the basin is the correct one for a sump pump or if we should switch it to something bigger.

Answer
Thank you for your interest in Sump Pumps Direct. It really depends on how you plan on getting the water into the sump basin. If you are doing a typical basement INSTALLATION, I would advise something more like the Zoeller model M53 or M98, depending on your water table. I would then suggest installing a standard SUMP BASIN and COVER. You can then tie this in to a french drain or you can drill holes in the basin to allow the water to seep through and into the basin for discharge by the pump. If you are looking to install this system outdoors or in a crawl space, the Liberty 1/3 HP Cast Iron Crawl Space Sump Pump Kit, model CSP-257 might be a better choice.
And don't forget the CHECK VALVE.
