Nice Tool For The Price... But Tool Has Sudden Catastrophic Fail

This is the fourth TB22 I've purchased. Three have failed after about 18 months of use. If I didn't already have $300 in accessories, I would buy a different brand. However, they are so inexpensive, I just keep buying new ones. I get my money's worth of work out of them.

Good Value For The Price!

This is the third TB22EC I've owned. All string trimmers are sometimes difficult to start- that's why I bought this model with electric start capability. I hope Troy-Bilt does not discontinue this option on this economical trimmer.

Trimmer came quickly, easy to assemble. Bought 'drill' adapter at Lowes, stuck it in cordless 12V drill & started trimmer in about 5sec. Boy am I happy. Now if I keep son & neighbors from borrowing.

Very Poor Quality
By David

Review Posted 06/15/2016
Bought 1 last summer. After a couple of uses the trimmer head got hot and fused together. They replaced under warranty. Made sure I did not use more than 20 min at a time. Same thing happened. Thought it was a respected brand, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Hard to start, runs bad, accelerates poorly. Broke after 2 seaso

This machine I only 2 years old Has not run well from day one which I attribute to the carburetor which cannot be adjusted, bad news. The bolt holding the motor case together broke. It lost ignition, probably the solid state.

Found it necessary to take the motor apart to remove the broken bolt. In doing so one of the piston rings broke. Have to purchase a short block to get one piston ring. Cost to repair not worth it. I will not purchase a Troy-Built in the future as they are Poorly-Built

Worst weed eater I ever used
By Steve

Review Posted 06/25/2015
Purchased it for a place we just moved to because it said for moderate duty. Have used it or tried to use it for the last 4 weeks. Low power! Runs well for about 5 minutes then not, then will stall after about 15 minutes. Used all the ingredients in the gasoline that were recommended. Cleaned the spark plug 3-4 times. Tried different gasoline. Won't even clear along the walk to the front door without shutting down and then won't start until engine cools. Wife kept telling me to return it but I thought I could get it going. So I repaired my 20 year old Featherlite "with band-aids" and remember how easy trimming used to be.

Very dissatisfied with this trimmer
By Janice F.
Okay, Oklahoma
Review Posted 09/24/2014
I am a former Lowe's employee who took my friend's advice on purchasing this product at the Muskogee Lowes. I am a single woman who recently purchased land and I need to clean it off. I am so disappointed with this product. I will return this one, get my money back, and find one that actually works for more than 15 minutes.

It is impossible to start and I am a stickler for following directions. By being single, I have to be able to do things for myself. I don't need a man there to start my weed whacker for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
