Snow Joe SJ624E Reviews & Ratings

Largest Plug In Electric In The USA

It is rather sorry to say that this SNO JOE is the biggest thing you can get - the snows we have in my area are really too much for it, and you have to watch out that the drive belts don't slip in a heavy snow bank - (one of the downsides of my #12 gauge extension cord - the motor is more powerful than the drive belts it is running). So, in summary, yes this blower is a bit of a toy, but all the others are so much worse.
I finally ended up taking an old dual stage mower with a blown engine, and put on a 3 HP 220 volt motor on it myself, which is NOW my main snow blower.

Snow Joe Electric Corded Snow Blower
By Elaine W.

Review Posted 10/26/2015
I used the Snow Joe Electric Corded Snow Blower all winter long, it worked really well in the light fluffy snow, but when the snow got a little water soaked and I was using it and it was going well, but than just stopped and never went again, I am still wondering just what went wrong.
This Snow Joe lasted me for 3 years in the worst winters Connecticut had and I am so disappointed it now is not going now, but am looking to repair it and hope it will last a few more winters..

I'm impressed!

I have used the Snow Joe Ultra twice so far this winter, and I am very impressed with its performance. I purchased it because we have a section of driveway that is very steep, and our 28" gas-powered snow blower is too heavy to control going down the driveway, and oftentimes I cannot get it back up the driveway, once I've made it to the bottom. I decided to give the Snow Joe a try because it is lightweight. What a perfect solution! For me, I've figured out that if I use a "vacuuming" motion, cutting about 2 feet at a time and working right to left down the driveway, it works best, and it keeps the cord out of the way. The portion of the driveway that I use it on is approximately 250 feet long, by 12 feet wide, and I cleared 8" of wet snow in approximately 45 minutes. I also noted that the Snow Joe blew this wet snow just about as far as the 28" gas-powered snow blower did. I actually look forward to the next snow storm (which is forecast for tomorrow night)!

Not great but apparently the best electric currently on the mark

Bought this as a replacement for the Greenworks 20" model which is now chintzier than the first one I bought, so this is my 3rd try at an electric blower .
I bought a heavier 100 ft #12 cord to allow for the higher power motor, but the drive belt slips under heavy loads. The tall intake was a plus on the purchase, but it is too tall for the auger size so pushing through heavy snow is very hard. Lighter amounts, the thrower seems to do well with. Also, the chute control lever is substantial and works well.
Now that the 24" Ariens Amp is history, this is unfortunately the best there is, and is the minimum required for Western New York, or other snowy locales. I would have purchased the AMP and shoehorned in bigger batteries to fix their design.
Too many Horror Stories with that $300 Toro. But the 'underpowered' E-cycler Toro lawn mower is ok. Just shows you can't shop by brand alone. So a marginal ok so far from me.

It's great, but for the space I have, maybe I should have gotten the battery powered due to that I have a corner house. But over all great!!!
