It's a trooper!

I run a small lawn business of 15 lawns. I have been using this mower for 4 years and I'm starting my 5th. It's body is starting to lose its bolts, but mostly easy fixes! Heck the original pull string finally frayed away the other day. It has the same motor and hasn't needed any major parts.
I'm still running the original blade. I change the oil frequently. I have a feeling it will last me all this year also. And knowing that it lasted me longer than multiple commercial mowers I've had in the past, I think I'll stick with these standard mowers. Estimated 400 lawns a year for 4 years = 1,600 lawns

Worst mower I ever bought

It is impossible to pull back unless it is PUSHED fwd about 3 feet. I have had a Snapper mower for 30 years THEY WERE the best.. now customer service is non-existent.
I was told by a Snapper customer service Tech " that’s normal it was designed that way!! what ?? the pins hang up because they are under torque. SO I have a $500 dangerous AND unusable mower. Buy at your own risk!! and DO NOT expect Snapper to stand behind their product or be of ANY help to you.
It has been in the shop the last seven out of eight weeks and it was returned the same way it went in.

We would normally have our Snapper rep contact your service facility to help resolve your problem, but we don't see you in our records, and you didn't provide the name of the service facility.
You may want to call Snapper directly at (800) 935 2967; they may be able to help you get the proper performance from your mower, or speak with your service tech. Or, perhaps even better, direct you to a different service center since the one you're using hasn't been much help.
It is normal to have to push a self-propelled mower forward an inch or three to disengage the forward movement; but you are right- 3 feet is too much. The repair should be covered under Snapper's 2 year consumer Factory Warranty.

We changed from Ariens to Snapper
By Don

Our past three mowers has been Ariens, but last one was very hard starting.
After comparing all the models we selected a Snapper with electric start. We were used to crazy wheels on the front and without them the mower seems very hard to control.
The ground speed control is very hard to control. If you don't wear gloves you can get a blister running the ground speed control.
Using the bagger you end up with just about as much grass on you as in the bag. The older models have a much better speed control and bagger system than the new ones.

Solid mower

This is my first Snapper mower, my last two over 16 years were Lawn Boys.
This mower seems to do it all, and I like having the option of pull start or just turning the key.
The mower is quite fast, and I'm still getting used to adjusting the speed. The bag is larger than I had on the Lawn Boys.
I've only used it three times but I like the mower.

Fantastic Machines

I've never actually used this model of Snapper mower but if it's anything like the Snapper we used to have
(until it was stolen in 1992) that was the BEST lawnmower I had ever seen!
My husband used it to bush hog my Mother-in-law's yard and hit part of a concrete block! That would have distroyed any other mower but that 5 hp. Snapper just chopped it up and discharged it.
I would have bought another one but our local dealer closed and I haven't found another.
