turbo head on a simplicity deck
By Gary

Review Posted 11/11/2015
Full Disclosure: I did not buy this unit from Mowers Direct. Writing this piece to the persons out there with failed turbo head units from Simplicity. You are not alone.

I too had early turbo belt failure, could not finish a half acre lot with a new belt. Turned out the pre-stamped mounting holes were such that the belt tension pulley would hit the deck drive pulley as the belt stretched under load. Moved the mount holes out 3/4" and that got me a year out of each belt.

Unfortunately other failures occurred regularly to the point I removed the catcher system, put the deck back into original fitment, and Regent is now on the for sale block, minus grass catcher turbo unit. Will not sell that unit. Picked up a used John Deere with non power grass catcher and it is working really well.

Anyone else having issues with belts lasting 1 cutting?
By Mike H.

Review Posted 04/25/2015
I thought this would be ideal for me. I have a Regent 48" deck and got this and triple bagger. This thing EATS belts. I rarely can get through a cutting of a 1/2 acre before belt starts to disintegrate.

I have more luck with some non-Simplicity belts, but it's not that much better. I am surprised this wasn't recalled. Anyone else having issues like this?
