Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
Is the SumpPro a pure sine wave inverter charger? What is it's surge capacity? Can it handle a 1/2 hp zoeller submersible sump pump?

Answer
Thank you for your interest in Sump Pumps Direct. It is not a pure sine wave inverter. It’s modified.
There is no rated surge on the SUMPRO but will handle the surge of a 1/2hp max 12 running amp max pump.

First your website is great. I have a question about auxiliary power sources. My situation is we had power outage this weekend during very heavy four hour nonstop rain storm. I have a dual sump pump system and also a battery backup sump pump. So a three sump pump system. Everything worked fine until the power loss the power was off for seven hours. Then the single battery backup sump pump was a life saver. It kept up with the water flow, but I was concerned how much longer the battery charge would last? The good news I was home to monitor the situation. I want peace of mind that my finished basement does not flood if had not been home. My question is how can I extend my battery backup sump pump for at least 24 hours or longer? What would you suggest? Look forward to your reply.

Answer
Depending on your battery backup system, most battereis will run for approximately 7 - 7 1/2 hours continuous or up to 24 hours when it's cycling on and off. Another option would be a Basement Watchdog BIG DOG
kit with 2 batteries that could provide up to 15 hours of continuous or 48 hours of non-continuous run time.
Your best option would probably be to purchase a standby generator that would turn on automatically when you loose power. You can find some essential circuit standby generators HERE. For proper sizing, it's best to consult with a licensed electrician.
