Product QuestionsAnswered by Joshua, the Air Compressor Expert
What is the recommended oil for this compressor, and does it come with oil?
David R.
from Illinois
October 20, 2019
Answer
Yes, this does come with oil. Quincy requires you to utilize their lubricant, which is their QuinCip-D premium lubricant. This is the maintenance kit you'd want to use with this compressor: EWK-6.

Answer
This is a WEG motor, although I will state that manufacturers are allowed to change brands of motors without notifying the retailers. They have been using WEG on the 7.5-HP air compressors for quite some time now.

What is a pressure lubricated compressor?
Chris M.
from Missouri
May 01, 2018
Answer
Pressure lubrication is more advanced but results in a longer pump life by a process where an oil pump precisely distributes oil to key areas of the pump. Splash lubrication is when oil is applied to the cylinders and pistons by rotating dippers. This is not a precise process and the oil level is critical, too little will create wear between components and too much will cause excessive lubrication which could lead to hydraulic lock.
