Like The Handling Or Power To Weight Ratio

Great little saw for the price and I like the weight to power ratio. I just cannot figure out why the saw does not run at half a tank of fuel. Tried venting tank, checked exhaust screen, pulled out and inspected the fuel filter. I want to try and adjust the low-speed needle valve, but cannot determine the style of carb adjust tool and not certain as to the location-think manual is wrong. Will eventually give up and contact the manufacturer. Not sure how to define fuel problem as an adjustment, carburetor flaw, or issue with the system. Otherwise, I really love the handling or weight to power ratio.

Problems Out Of The Box

Started and ran good but, ran out of gas almost immediately. The fuel pickup was positioned in the top of the tank causing it to run for just a few minutes before running out of fuel. Went through some pain figuring that out because it had plenty of fuel. Tried to reposition the fuel pickup to the bottom of the tank and had some success but, not sure if it will stay there. Seems like a small fuel tank based on engine size.
The bar oil leaks out onto the bar continuously and must set the saw on a rag to avoid oil all over storage area. In hindsight, I will spend the extra money on a name brand saw that is problem free out of the box. My old saw a Poulan 14" never had problems. A bit small but great on smaller diameter trees. Could have paid $40 more and got the 42cc 18".

Glad to hear your saw runs good. You were correct to reposition the filter hose in the tank. Sometimes in shipping these get repositioned, remove the gas cap and push the pickup hose to the bottom of the tank. The filter is on a pickup line so with this feature the filter can also be removed and cleaned. The oil flow can be adjusted with a set screw and directional open close instructions on the bottom of your saw. Thank you for choosing Powerking.

I found this saw very dependable and easily to operate. It starts ease, is ease to handle and really cut great. I also found that once you are finished with the saw and sat it down there is a lot of oil eating from the bottom. That is the only thing I have found. Good Saw.

Hi Marvin - This is Gregg, Founder of Powerking. There is an adjustment on the bottom of your saw marked "oil" with an arrow. Turn the screw clockwise to decrease the flow of oil. Also, use 10w motor oil in the cold weather and 30w oil in the summer. Keep your oil flow open of sawdust which is located behind the bar mounts. Good Luck and keep on keep'n on. Thank You for choosing Powerking.
