Ohio Steel 24" x 60" Steel Pro Lawn Roller

This is a heavy built roller and works great. I roll seed on food plots as well as rock in driveway and my yard.

Weld on tow bar broke after 2 hours of use. Not designed for full capacity in my opinion.

I mow 8 acres, assembled unit did a test run 3/4 full of water plug came out 2 times and leaked if i didn't keep water fill hole up when parked. After 1st run re tightened all bolts replaced plug with rubber plug from hardware store that is correct size. I have used this unit 5 or 6 times and had to toughen up bolts after each use, finally tack welded side arms to draw bar. This is a 64 inch unit 1150# $465 to $550 unit shipped

It was fine the first time I rolled the lawn this year. The 2nd time I used it this year It started leaking around the left bearing end. I need to go get it welded because it is a major leak. Also, the seam where the rolled cylinder is welded is a terrible butt weld. I would have expected 100% penetration along that seam but you can see the edges of the steel along the butt weld. I assume that will start leaking soon, so when I get the end leak welded I will run a weld bead along the cylinder seam also. I read reviews clear back to 2011 and some complained about the roller leaking after just a couple of uses. I assumed that 6 years later you would have improved the welding of your lawn rollers. I am a pipe welder by trade (40 yrs.). I would be embarrassed to ship something that has visible bad welds. The only reason I accepted the delivery is because I am a welder and figured I could repair it if it leaked. It is so disheartening to see something made in America put together so poorly.

The drum leaks fluid at the seam of drum about in the middle. Situation prohibits usage of antifreeze solution as grass would be killed.

I enjoy the roller and it performs very well.

Nice yard roller but the hitch length is way too short. I had to remove it with a torch, fabricate a new 2 foot longer hitch & weld it into place. If I was not a fabricator by trade I would have had to return it. Major disappointment when I received it.

Large size and heavy.

First I had to make an extension because the tow bar is very short and I couldn't turn because it was going to hit my tractor tires. On my second attempt with the extension bar, the coupler broke off!! For as much weight that this is when filled (1150lbs) it should have a lot heavier tow bar and coupler! Not sure what to do now.

Used about once/month, for a total of maybe 10 times on 3 acres. It started leaking by the end of first season, actually rusted through the side plates, where the tow bar connects to the axle. The drum is flimsy and the paint started to chip off during the first use.
By mid second season, it's just rubbish and would not hold water at all. I would NOT recommend getting this roller. Save your money!

Nice roller for a big horse arena. Don't overfill with water. The frame for attaching to a tractor is not as strong as it should be.
