Lancaster Pump SK50BOSS1 Reviews & Ratings

City Boss Booster Pump
By Rod K

Review Posted 03/19/2025
My original City Boss was 14 years old and functioned flawlessly as a booster pump for my home on my municipal water system. However the impeller had worn down, taking a long time to build pressure and flow. The new City Boss instructions were complete and easy to follow. The system installed easily and fired right up. It would have been nice to be able to buy just the pump section as the old motor and Masscontroll are still serviceable. A local plumber was charging 3x the price of Water Pumps Direct PLUS installation! I replace the old one in about an hour. No issues whatsoever.

Works Better than Old Pump and Well Pressure Tank
By Rob S

Review Posted 11/15/2024
I live about 90 feet above our city water connection. The original owners of our home installed a pump and well expansion tank 20 years ago that gave up the ghost. Instead of using the same setup, I opted to use an on demand pump.
After research and consulting with the Water Pump Direct team, I landed on the Lancaster SK50BOSS1 for it's all in one setup. I followed the direction with all optional equipment including a city and pump gauges, pressure reducing valve, 2 gallon expansion tank, and adjustable pressure relief. Our PSI from the street is only 30 PSI. With the old system we were getting approx 45 PSI. I have the PRV set to 70 PSI. The system works exactly as I had hoped. Although there are pumps out there which could do the same, the question of load and duty cycles comes into play. The Lancaster Pump is built to last.

Remarkable Pump!

We live in Middle Tennessee and deal with only about 20 PSI from our municipal water supply. I researched potable water pumps for about six months and settled on this system. Fast forward 18 months and our pump continues to serve our family well with continuous 70+ PSI whenever demand is placed on our distribution system. It’s not cheap but you’ll be glad you went with this pump!
