Was looking for awhile locally and couldnt locate

I was looking locally for a while for a weed trimmer on wheels. Couldn't find it anywhere. We have 10 acres and needed something that could handle tall thought stems. This machine goes right through them! Exactly what we were looking for.

Pros:
Easy To Use, I'd Buy It Again, Durable, Reliable
Husqvarna not so husky

I bought one of these three years ago. I was attracted to its simplicity, ease of changing strings, the Husqvarna name and the reputation of Briggs and Stratton.
I have not been able to use it within one season without taking it to the shop for one thing or another, and, more importantly, I've never been able to conclude cutting the grass on my 4 acres without a breakdown interrupting things.
The drive belt between the engine and the trimmer shaft is lightweight, as is the hardware around which it runs. The belt hardware was assembled incorrectly at the factory. After that was fixed, the belt shredded.
The plastic bumper/skidder under the strings disintegrated in the first season. The mechanic said they only last a year. Go figure.
My main issue is with the engine. The air cleaner is too small and it is in a vulnerable location. Grass trimming is dirty and dusty, and the air filter is located on the discharge side of the trimmer, i.e., all manner of debris is thrown into the air right next to the air filter, which sucks it right up, clogs and conks out.
The idle control mechanism has gone wonky, and I have to manually position it at the engine before I can successfully use the speed control lever on the handle.
The seal at the base of the oil filler neck disintegrated. Another $75 to the mechanic. As to oil, it's almost impossible to determine whether there's too little, enough, or too much oil because the dipstick refuses to come out of the crankcase cleanly after the first draw. And - changing the oil on this little pig is nightmarish. To get all the oil out of the crankcase, you have to position the machine halfway between on its side and up-side-down and wait for half an hour while it trickles out.
Briggs and Stratton may have been the reliable standby in the old days, but in this age of rampant bad gasoline mixed with corn alcohol and corrupted by water, B&S needed to do a serious redesign on its fuel delivery system, but apparently didn't. Water and varnishing agents are ever-present in gas these days, and any carburetor that isn't designed with that in mind these days is design-deficient. Even with recommended fuel additives, at least once per season my machine has stopped cold due to water in the fuel system, never mind the billowing clouds of exhaust that surround me periodically. At $50 - $75 per visit to the shop, I've paid as much for repairs as the purchase price. However, I've been given the secret to this one: When picking up the machine after its most recent carburetor cleaning, the old guy at the counter dissuaded me from buying more additive and said, "Jes' throw a l'il 2-cycle oil in the gas tank." "Really," I said, "won't that foul the plug?" "Nope. Been doin' it fer years. Ain't had one problem. Jes' use the same mix as fer yer 2-cycle engines." So I took it home a tried it. Lo, and behold, the engine starts more easily, runs more smoothly and quietly, and smokes less. Eureka! Then the drive belt broke again . . .

A trimmer to get excited about!

I bought this trimmer to handle my crazy overgrown backyard. As you can see in my video review, the trimmer does great. It handles brush and grass of all heights. My only complaint was that I quickly went through all of the string lines provided. But to be fair that was mostly my fault as I broke the lines on hidden metal objects found in the yard. Overall this is a great trimmer that I am going to get plenty of use out of.
I bought the trimmer from PowerEquipmentDirect.com they had one of the best prices online and the shipping was fast and problem free. Check them out for all of your power equipment needs.

Our 5+ acre property received over 6" of rainfall in a 12 day period, Nearly 3/4 of the annual precipitation, resulting in an explosion of the weed population. We needed help fast. String Trimmers Direct came through.

Headline says it all..........
I have 13 acres of unimproved property in Texas and my trimmer gets all of the underbrush with ease. Just make sure you choose the correct string size for the job at hand.

A lot more plastic than I expected. but that's OK if it will stand up in time. The "strings" don't last long, I can't mow 20 minutes without having to replace broken strings. Purchased a 350ft roll of replacement line, so that should get me through this season.
easy to operate, quiet, had running in five minutes after I took out of box. So far so good.
