Answer
L.N. Engel,
Yes, the only difference between these two models will be the electric start feature. To date, we have not had an issue with the use of the electric start on these models, that we are aware of.

Who fixes the mower while on warranty?
Chantel
from Nebraska
April 26, 2016
Answer
Chantel - the Honda warranty is a nationwide warranty, so you can take the mower to any Honda authorized service center in your area should warranty repairs ever be required. We have a link at the bottom of our web site for "service centers" if you want to find the closest Honda authorized service center in your area.

I am trying to decide between a Honda with electric start, and a Honda with both the blade stop and electric start. If I only get the electric start and have lots of start/stops will I wear that part out if I have 10 or more start/stops each time I mow? If that is not a problem, is there still an advantage to having the blade stop and keeping the mower running? Thanks!

Answer
Dan - if you anticipate starting and stopping the engine as many as 10 times each time you mow, then I would definitely recommend the HRX217HZA model with the blade stop feature. You will increase the lift expectancy of the on-board battery and the starter significantly by going with the blade stop model and not making all those starts and stops on your engine each time you mow.

Good morning,
I see that the Honda HRX217HZA has a non-metal mowing deck (with a lifetime warranty). What material is it made out of and on an uneven surface will the deck flex? Thanks
Floyd Sandlin
from Washington
August 11, 2012
Answer
Floyd - the mower deck on the Honda HRX217HZA is made from "NEXITE", which is a polymer material that is very similar to what is used to make football helmets and car bumpers. The mower will not flex when mowing uneven surfaces.
