Do not buy

Review Posted 06/02/2024
As all others have said, the batteries are useless as they don’t hold a change and stop charging after a couple of uses. Despite the weight and size of the batteries the lawnmower Bailey goes through heavy grass. It also weighs a ton and is very hard to manoeuvre especially if it’s hilly. It takes two batteries that are over $125 that we very hard to find and they seem to have lasted only a couple of charges. Do not buy this. Also there is no service available from Homelite as I tried for a week and for 10 calls no one ever answered the call so could not get any help from them.

For a cordless mower, this machine weighs a ton and doesn’t maneuver well. Hard to push on small inclines and feels like you're pushing a tractor instead of a push mower. The battery doesn’t last very long and now after three uses, will not recharge! Better off buying three or 4 goats and letting them do the cutting. Now no longer available and battery replacement is also not available. Garbage.

The mower itself looks very well built but the battery is one sorry piece. It only lasted a couple of recharges and then it would take nor keep a charge. What a big disappointment that sorry mower is.

Decided to go gasless and electricless. Loved this little guy. Mowed great. Hardly any noise. Cuts good and lasted long enough to finish.

Mower Feels Like Someone Is Sitting On It

The mower is not well balanced and it feels like someone is sitting on it, It takes more effort to mow the lawn than our old gas mower. It needs to be much lighter. Instead of calling it Homelite it should be Heavier than a home.

Worst lawn mower ever.

Purchased this lawn mower from Home Depot about a year and a half ago for about $100 + ( not sure about the price). Used it may be 6 - 7 times over the period. The charger went bad after the third recharge. The battery charging light goes off in couple of hours, instead of turning Green. The chargen becomes excessively hot. Tested the battery with multimeter, and it does have 25.5 Volts. But as soon as I drop the battery in the mower, and start the mower, only one green lite comes on, and within couple of minutes, the light goes red, indicating there is no power, and then in few minutes the mower goes silent.
Contacted the manufacturer, they have the worst customer service / tech support. There is hardly any tech support. All they tell you to purchase new charger, new battery, and with shipping charges, you still not sure if it is the battery or the mower itself. The service dealer is 8 miles from where I live, and charges $50 up front for diagnosing. They, there is no guarantee, you wont end up giving your arm and a leg to them. Might as well buy a new mower of a known brand.
It is true Sears Craftsman mower laster me 10 times longer. It was still working, I just wanted to go green. Sheeeesh! Would not recommend this product even to my enemy.

Solid Mower but not Great
By Brian W.

Review Posted 06/02/2016
Bought it 5 years ago. Very happy with performance however the battery started to die and the replacement can be as much as a new mower. If you're handy and feel comfortable opening up a mower, you can replace the internal batteries for $70.
Add a new blade and it's like the mower is fresh out of the box. I would highly recommend this mower to anyone who has around 1.5 acres to cut, on flat land (I could imagine this mower can be seen as heavy by some folks and you'll get tired pushing up hill frequently).
This is an average lawn mower though. Solid, but not great. Some parts are noticeably poorly constructed, but the mower has it where it counts.

Excellent Mower However

I can order a new 24 volt batters and pick up at HomeDepot in 2 to 3 days. But I am unable to find the safety key that controls the electric motor. I have been searching Homelite online and over the phone and cannot locate the part. The mower is now useless with a $100.00 DOLLAR battery!
I tried online parts at HOMELITE and called the parts department and they did not have a clue what I was talking about. With out this safety key the mower is JUNK. Buyer beware of this parts and service company. Shame on you!

I had my Sears Craftsman for 15 years and it was still running fine but decided to "go green."
Unfortunately, I will be putting this Homelite 24 volt out for trash collection where it will end in a landfill.
The battery does not hold a charge and the mower lacks enough power to cut my grass. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing.
