  3 Questions
Q: Can one of the double-pole 20amp breakers, be replaced with a 30amp double pole to power a water heater? I think the answer is yes but cannot tell for sure.
by Jeff Eichman from Pennsylvania on April 10, 2014

A: Per the installation guide the circuit breaker assortment can be modified to suit specific requirements and does not void the UL listing.

Note: The installer is responsible for providing appropriately sized wires for each circuit.

Q: Ref: 30216A
As an electrical contractor we have use arc fault circuit breakers on certain loads. This creates a problem with the neutrals. Is there an alternate panel I could use?

by Keith Budka from New York on January 01, 2014

A: The following switches accommodate GFCI and ARCH Fault circuit breakers to meet the latest NEC requirements.....

Q: Are the breakers in this switch interchangeable with ones that I can pick up at Lowes? Are there knockouts to add the additional 4 circuits? Where? Is there any advantage of having individual transfer switches (like the reliance controls brand) over the 60A interlocked type like on the Generac 6376? Thanks!
by Jeff Breneman from Ohio on September 10, 2013

A: Thank you for your inquiry!

The breakers that are fitted into the Generac 6376 are the 1" single and double pole breakers. There are many different styles that are listed in detail within the owner's manual. We have provided a link to this manual for your convenience. These are available at many home improvement stores.

Owner's Manual

There are no additional knock-outs for extra circuits. The 4 extra spaces can be accommodated by exchanging your 2-pole breakers for 1-pole models.

The benefit of this style switch is that it will not only function as a transfer mechanism, but also a sub-panel. This adds versatility to any installation.

If you have a portable generator, you have some peace of mind that if the power goes out you will be able to power the basic necessities. Most of the time you think about the power going out, you think of spring thunderstorms, not winter snow or ice storms.

If you have a portable generator, most likely, you cannot power your furnace fan in the event of a power outage without a transfer switch. This 30 Amp Manual transfer switch allows you to run up to 6 circuits with the ability to expand... more

Very Easy Manual Transfer Switch Installation
The Generac 30 amp manual transfer switch was very easy to install next to the main circuit breaker panel. It was also very easy to change the number of circuits from 6 to 10. It would also be easy to add a 30 amp sub-panel fed by the transfer switch to increase the number of circuits beyond 10.

In my installation all the circuits being put on the generator were new, so I left the hot wires 4' long in the main panel. Then I simply removed the factory installed wires from each breaker in... more
