Horrible Pressure Washer
By David S.
Justin, Texas
Purchased 07/28/2013 |
Review Posted 03/12/2015
This has been very disappointing. I have purchased other items and never had an issue, but this refuses to run and the local repair service has issues with the warranty.

Small woman, big jobs!
By Paula L.

I am a small woman with big jobs to do. For years I have scrubbed our decks and porches by hand with brushes and hose sprayer. It took days.
I borrowed an inexpensive power washer from a friend, and decided to buy my own. I'm glad I chose the Generac because it's easy to use, does the job well, and I can move it around myself, even up the deck stairs!

Got it for Christmas. Put it together. Followed instructions. Tried for days to start it with no luck. Has oil and gas. Checked spark plug and filters and lines. Company says contact Generac. Nearest repair service over an hour away.

Expert Response
Since Warranty Service is so far away, you may want to contact Generac Tech Support at (888) 436-3722 x5381 to see if they have any advice.
Some of the reports we've gotten about the engine not starting are because the air filter is clogged with oil- the package gets tipped in shipping & the oil goes where it doesn't belong (even though it's not supposed to be tipped).
Cleaning the air filter, letting it dry completely & then re-installing it has been helpful in some cases. The same tipping may have fouled the spark plug with oil- you may want to check it to see if it needs cleaning as well (just be careful not to change the gap).

The pressure washer shipped real fast and was as described.
So far it has met my expectations, however I have only used it for 30 minutes. I will put it to the test as the weather get better.

Why didn't I buy a Honda?
By Mark Wyatt
Ft Worth, Texas
Review Posted 12/20/2013
First of all I have to say that I worked at a nation wide equipment rental for 11 years and have operated and instructed customers on how to use pressure washers.
That being said I received my Generac 2700 PSI pressure washer and set it up and it worked great. The second time I used it, It wore my arm off trying to start it and it cut off when a load was put on it. I took it to the authorized service center to be told if it's bad gas I'll have to pay for the carb repair.
All my other power tools worked great on that gas so why the Generac? So I had to pay for the repair. Plus the pump setting had been jacked with by someone before I ever received it. Warranty did cover that. If you don't put fuel stabilizer in the gas, you'll have to pay for bogus carb repair, because warranty won't cover that. Hey, why did the hundreds of rental equipment plus my own lawn equipment run great with clean gas and no fuel stabilizer?
If this happens to you tell the service center to check for a stuck pump valve first, before tearing down the carburetor. They seem to like to double dip on repairs. My gas was not the problem so I shouldn't have had to pay for any repairs. Oh well, I got 3 hours of use out of it. Maybe it will work for a while, but I'm not counting on it.

Worked fine now won't start
By Jonathan T.

Review Posted 11/23/2013
I purchased this pressure washer after reading all of the positive reviews. Received in the mail, added oil and fuel and started it to make sure everything worked. Started right up and worked great. I only used it for about 10 mins and shut it down. Tried to start 4 days later and nothing. Still has fuel and oil, changed hose to a shorter one and checked the spark plug. Still will not start. Yes, ignition and fuel are on and plenty of water pressure.
I really hate giving the negative review because this seems like a quality unit, but not starting so soon after purchasing is unacceptable. Generac tech support wasn't any help. Now I have to take the unit in to an authorized service center.

Look out vinyl fences
By Leo A.

Review Posted 11/19/2013
I have a 6 rail vinyl fence around a very large back yard. I used my new pressure washer to clean the fence and it greatly reduced my labor and time to complete the job.
Now I will not dread the next time I have to clean the fence.

What a good pressure washer. It work well, easy to start up, and light weight. Nothing bad to say- will have to see after we use it a few times.
The only thing I did not like was the hose it came with, it's not that well made.
