Awesome Product

Between my Dad, my son, and myself, we have a lot of oak trees. In the fall, the lawn can be like walking on marbles. The Bag A Nut does a very good job of collecting acorns. We've found it best to collect the acorns frequently. So, they don't get pressed into the lawn. It doesn't get every acorn, but it gets at least 85-90% of them. The unit is well built and very easy to assemble.

A great American made product. It picked up the acorns so well, I kind of feel sorry for the squirrels who might starve... Just kidding, I hope the squirrels never come back. This year was a light year for acorns, so I'll have to see how it does on one of our 'heavy' years. It also picks up any little sticks or rocks on the lawn, which is really a plus. I'm glad I bought it, and it seems like it will last for years to come. Thank you!

It works great on level ground. Mine is bumpy and has many tree roots. My neighbors are level, and I bought it mostly for them to use. My trees drop acorns on their property, and they have to rake them up several times each year. With this machine, it is a minor inconvenience to roll them up and they greatly appreciate the use of the machine.

What A Time Saver!

We have raked our acorns since 1987, then we spotted a 36" Bag-A-Nut at a rental shop & tried it. We liked it so much we bought an 18" for small acorns. The 18" works amazingly well on our uneven ground. I wish I knew about this product many years ago. I highly recommend this product (one of our best purchases, worth the price).

Better Than I Ever Thought It Could Be!

I've tried everything out there, for the last three years I've used a shop vac. The last time I used it to pick up acorns, it took 3.5 hours. I had finally had enough of it. I was ready to chop down the oak tree! I was looking for a power-driven vacuum & contacted the John Deere dealer I work with. I figured JD would make a good unit, they don't. I asked him about Bag-A-Nut, so he called a couple of people in a couple of states. So, I paid the money for one at Leaf Blowers Direct. It arrived rather quickly & it was easy to assemble. I had chosen the unit for smaller nuts. The next time I collected nuts, it took only 25 minutes! By the way, it was fun & easy. It sounded like we were popping popcorn. So, my oak was saved to pester me with more acorns but, who cares now?

Awesome Product

Had an issue with landscapers doing terrible job picking up acorns on my property. I took matters into my own hands and purchased the Bag-a-Nut 18" Push Harvester. It gave me the ability to pick up acorns all over the property. As long as the lawn is clean of leaves and branches, the Bag-A-Nut is a breeze to use.

Disappointed
By Lee M.

I purchased the 18" Push Harvester towards the end of the acorn drop season. It picked up about 50%-60% of the acorns on my lawn. It will not pick up acorns that you may step on or acorns that embedded themselves into the soil. Unfortunately, I still had to rake and pick up tons of acorns from my lawn. It may work better if you use it multiple times throughout the acorn drop season before they have a chance to dig in. The problem with that though, is that it works best when the grass is short, so when cutting with a tractor or push mower, you ride on or step on the acorns and push them down into the ground. Also, the unit is way overpriced since it is manufactured mostly with plastic parts. Many of the parts could have been made with more durable aluminum material.

Expert Response
Thank you for the well thought out feedback. As far as the issues you are having with the Harvesters' inability to pick up the embedded acorns goes, we understand your frustrations. The light weight design helps increase its usability, but does not allow for very deep burrowing. For best results, use as frequently as possible during acorn drop season. Once more, we appreciate you reaching out with your very purposeful feedback.
