Product QuestionsAnswered by Dale, the Leaf Blower Expert
In addition to using this on my lawn can I also use this Agri-Fab 45-0320 to clear my gravel parking areas and blacktop drive? Will using it on these surfaces significantly degrade or damage the brushes?
David
from Virginia
November 22, 2014
Answer
David - you are correct. The brushes on these lawn sweepers are designed for use on turf and grass surfaces only. Using this on a hard surface like gravel or blacktop will cause excess wear to the brushes, and significantly shorten their life expectancy.

Do they make a metal gear fitting that can be placed over the polymer gear of the wheel for longer gear life ?
Mike Martin
from New Jersey
October 24, 2013
Answer
Mike,
Unfortunately, they do not make a fitting that could be placed over the poly gear on the inside of the wheel.
If you are able to adjust your brush height appropriately, you would have much issue with any premature wear. Having your brush set too low where the brush skips or stutters on your clean-up surface would wear out any gear metal or plastic, much earlier than designed for.

I don't have a riding mower. I would plan to use this sweeper as a walk behind. Is the frame sturdy enough to push as a walk behind?
John

Answer
John,
It will not double as walk behind for the exact reason as you state. As soon as you have a fair amount of leaves in the hopper, the frame will buckle.
I think you would be very happy with the quality and durability of this walk behind sweeper.

Hi Joe
How much assembling is required. If I bought one of your lawn sweepers. Like the Agri -Fab 42"
Thanks

Answer
Bill,
I would rate the sweeper assembly as a solid medium in the sole fact you are going to need to build the entire frame and hopper together. It's going to take about 30-45 minutes and you will only need a few specified wrenches.

Does this sweeper have plastic gears or metal gears
David Ramsey
from Ohio
August 22, 2013
Answer
David,
The pinion gears are metal and they rotate around the teeth on the inside of the wheel which is a polymer plastic.

Can you sweep behind as you mow, or do you have wait for the grass to dry some what?
Paul Flinkman
from Massachusetts
May 25, 2013
Answer
You can sweep as you mow, but it would be better to wait for the grass to dry a little depending on the dampness of the grass. The brushes will do a much better job picking up dry material. The wet clippings or wet leaves just don't pick up as well.
