Howdy manufacturers. Jon Hoch, Founder of Power Equipment Direct, and I am back continuing our video series on our brand new Preferred Placement program.

In this video, we're going to talk about the second strategy for using Preferred Placement, and it's about promoting new SKUs, okay?

You'll notice at the top of our page, we leave a spot for brand new products to be highlighted and promoted at the top of the page. So if you're the only product that's new, you get some visibility and exposure. But in most cases, we probably put twelve, thirteen products online all at the same time.

We don't put all twelve or thirteen in the listings. We only choose one, and it's randomly chosen from one out of twelve chance that this product will be at the top of the page.

Well what if that isn't good enough for you? What if you want to be guaranteed to be on the top of the page. This is what you do.

You use Preferred Placement, you put a bid in there, and what it'll do is it'll put you just underneath the top sellers, and you'll be at the spot so you'll get plenty of visibility and exposure for that product going forward.

So how do you do it? Let me show you how to do it. You go to the Manufacturers' Portal, and then you go to our Preferred Placement tab. And if you go to the bottom of the page, you'll notice that there's all kinds of filters over here. And these are the ones that I really want to point out, because it's the strategy filters. And these are kind of like, I consider them Jon's favorite filters, right?

The second strategy we have is Promote New SKUs, right? If you click that, it'll instantly sort all of the data so you don't have to, and it'll identify, "here are the three products that are new." And go ahead and put a bid in here.

But I want to show you something else because you're promoting a new product. You want to do a few other things.

If you'll notice these pencils here, if you click on the pencils, it'll take you to the product page in the Manufacturers' Portal. And you'll notice that this product is too new, and here it is. And if you scroll down, you're gonna notice several different tabs, okay?

There's four different tabs that are on this page, okay? The first one is Sales History. There is none, because this is a new sku, so there's no reason to look at it. And then there's also Respond to Reviews over here, which the product is new so there's nothing to respond to yet.

And in addition to that, there's two in the middle here that are both red, okay? I want to draw attention first to the Write Review. You'll notice that there's an exclamation point here. Because it's new, you want to write a review for this product. This is your chance to upload some videos, to put some images on the site, write some clever text. This is your chance to take all of those marketing materials that you do a great job at, put it on our site, and make it happen.

In addition to that, you want to be higher on the page, you want people to see your product. So participate in Preferred Placement. You'll notice that it's off right now. How do we turn it on? Very simple. You go to the bottom of the page, and you'll notice you can do it on that other page, or you can do it on this page here. But you can type in a bid for thirty cents, you hit the update button, it turns green, it's now active. Preferred Placement is now going on.

Now you're getting visibility and exposure for those new products. The important thing is that eventually this product isn't going to be new, and it's going to fall into our algorithm. And you're gonna have to determine, "how did it sell while it was new?" And if it's a good seller, it'll be at the top of the page. And if it wasn't, Preferred Placement is still on, so it's gonna be stuck there at the middle of our listing pages. So you keep going after the fact that it's not new.

I hope this made sense for you. Next we're gonna be back with our third strategy on why to use Preferred Placement. And this is actually the most important reason, and this is why we created the program in the first place. Stay tuned for that video, and I hope you have a great day. Thanks for listening.
