Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
How long will it run on battery mode compared to a 12 volt pump like basement watchdog uses?

Answer
A standard 12V battery backup system like the Basement Watchdog will run approximately 7 hours continuous and 24-36 hours non-continuous or cycling when using the recommended fully charged battery. That said, these 12V systems will also loose pumping capacity (GPH) as the battery discharges much like a battery powered remote control car that slows as the battery dies, or any other battery powered device. The iON 35ACi System on the other hand is a 12V INVERTER system that converts 12V battery power into standard 120V electricity which means that you get full pumping capacity (GPH) until the batteries are fully discharged. The flow chart on page 8 of the OPERATIONS MANUAL will show you how much time you can expect when using 2 fully charged recommended batteries, from continuous duty up to 10% duty cycles.
