The Zoeller M267 has a rated maximum vertical head lift of about 21 feet, HOWEVER the optimal head lift range should be between 8 & 18 feet. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Answer
The Zoeller M267 that we offer will definitely work for you. The "F" designation tells you the time period that the pump was produced. In your case, this pump was built between 10/1992 and the present.

does the zoeller pump have a capacitor in it?

Answer
Thank you for your interest in Sump Pumps Direct. The Zoeller 267 Series pump does NOT contain a capacitor. It works off a relay start rather than a capacitor start motor.

Jim - my local supplier is telling me the M267 is an acceptable replacement for the WM266 pump in my QwikJon. Upon inspection I can tell the design is slightly different but it would certainly 'fit' in the QwikJon basin. Thoughts?
Ken
from Maryland
January 24, 2015
Read Response +
Answer
Your local supplier is incorrect. The Zoeller QwikJon systems require an exact replacement pump and the M267 will NOT work. While the dimensions may appear very similar, the switching mechanism is very different. the correct replacement would be the 1/2 HP Replacement Sewage Pump for QWIK JON® Units, model WM266.
If you have any other questions, please let me know or feel free to call Zoeller tech support at 800-928-7867.

How far will this pump, pump horizontally. I am building an outbuilding with a toilet and need to pump about 260 feet to my septic. The ground is level, basically no slope in discharge pipe over that distance. If not are there other options?

Answer
Based on your description and requirements, I would recommend the Liberty 3/4 HP Cast Iron Sewage Pump (2") w/ Piggyback Tether Float, model LE71A2. The Zoeller M267 would not have enough power to handle your distance.

What's the voltage? Is it dual (120/240) or (120/208)?

Why would a grinder pump like the shark 280 be used in lieu of a pump that just passes solids like the M267?
Steve
from Maryland

Read Response +
Answer
In most applications, especially residential, a standard sewage pump should suffice. Standard sewage pumps like the Zoeller M267 will easily handle "solids" up to 2 inches and will attach to a 2 inch discharge pipe. If you experience problems with frequent or occasional clogging, you may need to upgrade to a sewage pump with a 3 inch discharge. While a lot of people believe that a grinder pump will handle all their needs, this is generally not the case. A true grinder pump like the Liberty 2 HP Omnivore® Grinder Pump w/ Piggyback Tether Float model LSG202A are better used in applications that require an extreme high head (50' - 100+') or horizontal discharge run.

Hi Jim, Please tell me that's a typo in the Spec Sheet where it indicates the Motor Amps: 10.4 run / 43.6 start Amps. That's a whale of a load for Start Up. Thanks!

Unfortunately, that is not a typo and all electrical wiring and protection must be in accordance with National Electrical Code and any other applicable state and local electrical requirements.

Answer
If the pump is only handling a single bathroom and your total dynamic head (TDH) is less than 15 feet, you should be fine. If however, your TDH is higher, you may need to stick with the M282 as it is a more powerful pump.

Hi Jim, I'd like to know if you have any recommendations on a battery backup pump you can recommend that would be a good fit with the Zoeller M267.

Answer
At this time there are no battery backup systems available for sewage applications. Your best bet would be to check out a small STANDBY GENERATOR.

is this the same thing as a grinder pump
Rainey
from Missouri

Answer
NO. A grinder pump will actually contain blades to "grind" any solids that would get into the suction inlet. A sewage pump will "pass" up to 2 inch "solids" in a sewage application.

Hi Jim, We are looking for sewage pump for basement bathroom; Zoeller M267 looks the best one available. However, is there any kind of system come with pump which will alert just in case pump shut down or something got stuck/wrong with it? Please suggest...

Answer
There are no pumps that I'm aware of with that capability, however, you might check out the Superior Pump Universal Sump & Sewage Pump Alarm System, Model 92060. This alarm system would alert you in the event your liquid level was higher than normal. Another option might be the Protected Home Basic Alarm Dialer, Model BD-5000 and the Protected Home WaterSiren Plus, model WS-04. This system would sound an alarm and automatically dial a phone number to alert you as well when the water level reaches a higher than normal level.

Hi Jim: I'm looking at using the M267 to move the water from a basin that will catch flow from 5 gutter downspouts. What is the duty cycle rating? When it rains, I expect this pump will run continuously and/or have lots of starts.
Ben
from Tennessee
April 16, 2011
Read Response +
Answer
Kind of a tough question to answer because the Duty Cycle is based on a number of variables.
Basically the standard stop/starts per hour recommended for the M267 are 6-10.

To calculate a more specific Duty cycle you would need to know the fixture count & GPM’s feeding into the basin, the basin capacity along with the collected volume capacity within the basin, also the discharge length and head, taking into account peak Vs. non-peak usage (yes it gets complicated).

There are mathematical equations to figure out a close Duty Cycle predicated on the info I just listed above however, depending on peak, non-peak or moderate demand the Duty Cycle will fluctuate.

HI Jim, Can you tell me if I can use the Klunkless check valve with a sewage pump?
Ruben

January 07, 2011

Answer
This check valve can't be used with sewage pumps. The maximum size pipe this valve can handle is 1-1/2".

Sewage pumps have a 2" or larger discharge.
