Product QuestionsAnswered by Jared, the Generator Expert
If the RPM speed determines the frequency, how do you know when you have the proper turning speed from the tractor?

Answer
The tractor will have a gauge that will allow you to set and monitor the tractor's RPM. Also, the generator has a voltage gauge. There is a red and green designation that will allow you to monitor your voltage. You will want to keep the voltage in the green to ensure that the proper frequency is being put out. This will be done by using the tractor's RPM to keep you in the proper voltage range.

I have a Kubota 2920 compact tractor with 29 HP overall and less at the PTO. Am I better off buying the 15kW and not maxing it out or buy a 10kW and have no HP issues but max the generator?

Answer
You would not be able to use the 15kW model since having less PTO HP would cause the generator to output the wrong Hz (Less then 60Hz) which will damage the generator and the equipment it is trying to power. The 10kW would be the correct choice.

With most 10kW and 15kW PTO driven generators driven at 540 RPM PTO and the Winco 10 and 15kW units driven at 515 RPM PTO, does that mean I could run my Kubota 38 h.p. at a lower RPM for the Winco to operate at full capacity or would my Kubota still have to still run at about the same RPM's as the 540 RPM PTO generators? What would be the difference in the rpm's between the two with my tractor for them to maintain the same load?

Answer
There is a possibility you would run your tractor at a lower RPM. However, we would not know what your tractor RPM would need to be running at to produce the proper RPM at your PTO. It is suggested that you contact the tractor manufacturer to find out what RPM the engine needs to run at to have the PTO operate at 515 RPM.
