  1 Question
Q: Hey Bob, I have a part time portable sawmill business. I generate slabs when milling logs into lumber. I have been discarding the slabs, but would like to possibly chip them if I can find a market. The Wallenstein 92 has been recommended as I need the capability to chip wide slabs. This chipper is in my price range, where as the hydraulic fed chippers are not. Will this chipper pull the slabs in or will it be necessary to hold pressure as the slabs are fed into the chipper. Just want to know how much work it will be and what I should expect.

A: With the "S" series chippers from Wallenstein, these units are going to be gravity fed. This is more or less a fancy way of saying you will have to guide the material in. There is going to be some pull, but more or less you will still have to monitor your work on this. Where as if you were able to go with the "R" series/hydraulic units, those units are self feeding which would be you just putting the material in the feed and it will feed for you.
