Many Problems
By Mike M.
Camano Island, Washington
Review Posted 08/25/2014
I live in a rural area so it is difficult to get to a dealer. I bought my RE110 in 2013 and almost immediately the ignition switch failed. I replaced it at my cost. Then the mower belt which is suppose to be a double grooved belt failed a year later. The factory had installed a single groove belt. When I ordered a replacement, the dealer sent me a single groove once again. Since then the mower engine has stopped and won't restart. I don't know if it is another bad switch or an interlock. I am having way to many problems with this mower. After paying this much, I would expect far better quality than what I am experiencing..

Very Disappointed with mower

First year was great. Ran like a charm. One month after warranty was over, had electrical problems. Been dealing with issue since. Makes good stationary seat in the garage. If this is typical on Snapper products, will never buy one again. Thank goodness I still have my 19 year old push Lawn -Boy. All I have had to do with it was replace oil and worn out parts.

Expert Response
Doug,
Not sure if we are missing something, but the Snapper 7800920 is a model from last year and carries a 3 year warranty. If you are having problems with the electrical system this would still be covered under warranty. If you have any questions on this at all, please contact us and we can assist in any way we can. Below would be our number and again feel free to call us if you have questions.

A Lifesaver!

This is my first riding mower. I needed a mower that would pass through a couple of 32 inch bottlenecks and my new Snapper does just that with a wider cutting swath than any other small rider. Great engineering!
Started right up "out of the box" and has been trouble free while I make all of the beginner mistakes. Living in Southwest Florida can be a life threatening experience, pushing a mower in summertime, so as I approach 70 years old I decided that discretion is the better part of valor. Best decision I ever made!

Should have read reviews!

Purchased in April, 2013 and came with a regular blade (Should install mulching blade at factory). Impossible to DIY so back to shop where purchased. Next, was losing power to climb small inclines in yard to point was necessary to go up in reverse- back to shop for three weeks to fix while I decide to keep or trade in. Dealer convinced me to minimize my losses and he fixed at no expense to me. Dealer has been fair but now a service bulletin has claimed an ignition switch must be replaced and is on back-order so gone as of today-6 more days out of service. So, this 74 year-old man mows 1/2 acre with a good old push mower.....Not happy with SNAPPER.

Ignition Switch is junk!

Had my new RE110 for a few months now. Ignition switch began acting up a month ago and now doesn't work at all. Dealership say's they're on "back order". Are there really that many failing?

Good Mower, Not for tight turning
By William R.

Review Posted 09/02/2013
The mower is okay but not great. I wanted a narrow mower to get into gate to mow back yard. I have a lot of trees and shrubs so it is not straight forward mowing. The mower doesn't turn sharply very well in difficult tight maneuvering.
The clutch does not engage well at all, I am a manual trans car driver.
The assembly safety switch in the seat is terrible if you follow the instructions. It says to put switch in seat before connecting but the switch falls inside the seat and was extremely difficult to get out.
Quality looks good. Like Brigg and Stratton motor. Starts easily. Do not necessarily like the fact you always have to run full throttle. After I read about back up kill switch in for an override, I was okay with it.
Did like the directions not recommending for over 60 I am over 60.

Not the Snapper of Old

I researched all over the internet for this a few months ago. I looked it over in person and saw it looked similar to the old style Snappers but did have some changes. Instead of buying it on Mowers Direct I bought it at a dealer in case it had any problems. When I walked into the dealer it was the same $1,499 as listed here. It was next to a larger Cub Cadet with the Kawasaki engine for $1,699. $200 price difference for a much better machine, I should have bought the Cub. I didn't. I bought the Snapper because it would be easier to work on long term and this machine was to last me a long time.
I am only a few months in and it's about to make it's second visit to the dealer for the same problem. The ignition switch is JUNK. I could easily live with this machine if it was reliable and would start. Since there is no pull start, like on the older ones, I'm relying on the key. As mentioned in another review, with the mulching plate on the deck and regular blades it doesn't mulch at all. Just bogs down with grass after while. I also have the bagger which works great and cuts great. No problems with the cut, just the damn thing is unreliable because of a GARBAGE ignition switch. This will be my third one and others have had the same problem. I'm going to see if they will take this back and I can get that Cub for a few hundred bucks more, or buy an old Snapper. I will be uploading a video to Youtube sometime in the near future.

I went from Craftsman to this mower. Kind of like switching from a Buick to a Jeep. Harder to turn, rougher ride but it cuts beautifully. I love the cut in reverse feature. I added the double bagger and absolutely love that.
