This all depends on your own situation. If you live in a home or use a snow blower in a place which can get a good amount of drifting, then absolutely drift cutters are worth it. Now obviously you will need snow, but the drift cutters are going to do exactly what they are called. If you deal with either heavy snow fall or high drifts the cutters will keep the snow in front of the blower as opposed to falling on top of the snow blowers allowing you to keep clean rows. If you don't deal with drifting over 2', then I most likely would not suggest drift cutters.
