Simpson Waterblaster Professional 4200 Psi (gas-cold Water) Belt-drive Pressure Washer W/ Honda Engine Review
(No, I am not the race car driver). This machine is really slick. Lots of power, easy to start, clearly the best pressure washer I ever owned. I started my pressure washer business 5 years ago and swear by these Simpson machines. I used to buy cheaper brands but am totally convinced to buy the best, which is Simpson. The Honda engine is great and the belt drive system is much better for the amount of use I put on these machines than the direct drive. Really nice hose doesn't mark stuff like the other ones I had. Non-functional
I purchased this item for clearing gutters with a telescoping pole. I don't recommend purchasing this item at all for the following reasons:
Due to the design, when using pressure above 3000psi, the extension pole flexes way to much and becomes uncontrollable, and a safety hazard.
For some weird reason, the tips keep shooting off into the gutter, so I have to drop a ladder to retrieve them.
Finally, I would recommend the one at a big box store where there are two nozzles pointing opposite of each other, countering the torque! I purchased this item for clearing gutters with a telescoping pole. I don't recommend purchasing this item at all for the following reasons:

Product Expert James, The pole is rated to 3500 PSI. Using it with a 4200 PSI washer may be enough to over-flex the pole, however safety procedures are covered in the Owner's Manual.
The gutter cleaner is 1/4" tip; the pole is 3/8" tip. You will need an adaptor for the proper fit. more Was this review helpful? 8 7 |

Does The Job
I bought this unit as an addition to my other pressure washer that I use as a back up at my presently fledgling part-time business, and it does a superb job cleaning concrete and wooden decks alike.
The only issue I had was, when I received the unit, I noticed that the label affixed to the frame stated that the triplex pump was 3.5 GPM instead of the advertised 4.0 GPM. I then contacted PressureWashersDirect and had kind of a hiccup in getting a response from them.
It took the representative three emails from me for him to get me the information about the discrepency on the GPM. I did however get a response that the "Rated" maximum GPM was 4.0 and not 3.5.....being a non-technical pump person, I still don't understand this, but oh well.
It gets the job done and performs adequately, so if somehow I got cheated .5 GPM, that's okay because what goes around comes around. Despite this tiny issue, I would still highly recommend this unit to my friends and others. Pros: Durable, Price, Reliable, I'd Buy It Again Cons: Heavy, Bad Instructions Benny Recommends This Simpson Product Product Expert Benny, I apologize, Simpson was looking into this. At this time they are moving their facilities, which is the reason it took them 3 business days to get back to me. Again, I apologize for the delay, but the pump is rated for 4.0 GPM. more Was this review helpful? 3 3 |

An Awesome Pressure Washer
I love it. More power than I need and the pressure reducer makes that variable need for pressure available with the turn of knob. I only wish I had known it was available with an electric start. The kickback can sometimes be impressive. If I can get the electric start as an additional add on I will get it and I suggest that anyone buying this product does the same. Other than that it delivers great water pressure and runs smoothly.
I have mounted it to my pickup that has a bed slide. That makes the reel and the 4200 readily easy to get to. It is far to heavy to lug around.
I wish there was a pressure unloader valve that I could operate from the unit. Right now I have to release the pressure from the wand.
I did have an issue with the soap injection valve and have plugged that in favor of a downstream injection system. I love it. Pros: Easy To Use, Price, High Quality, I'd Buy It Again Michael Recommends This Simpson Product Product Expert Michael, You may want to give the folks at Simpson a call at 877-362-4271 to see if your unit can be retro-fitted with an electric starter. There are aftermarket electric starters on the market, but you need to make sure you choose one that is compatible with your engine. more Was this review helpful? 1 2 |

Try One You Will Like It !!!!
Received the pressure washer in a box in a tractor as you advised..the pressure washer is completely assembled.
I had to buy some some speed connects for the wand. Put in oil that was included and added fuel and as usual with one of those dependable Honda motors pulled the cord a couple of times and she fired right up.
I have several power washers both cold water and hot water but they do not compare to the U.S.-made belt powered power washers. The only bad thing is I do not have funds to buy another one at this time.
Power Washers Direct did all that they promised and am very pleased with my American made Simpson power washer !!!
