Does this product provide a rain tight connection when product is in use? This is a current requirement of the National Electrical Code.
It does not look like it fills the in use portion of the code.

Thank you for your interest in Electric Generators Direct.
The Reliance Controls, PB30 power inlet box is rated as a NEMA 3R enclosure and will be suitable as an outdoor connection.
The NEC standard you are referring to covers outdoor, “live” receptacles which is why you will notice that many outdoor receptacles feature gasket material. In the case of a power inlet box, the device itself is not considered live until hooked up to a generator and the transfer mechanism switched. Under any other circumstances, the outlet would not be live as there should be no closed circuits leading to it.
For an added degree of protection, we could recommend one of the "rain tight" power inlet boxes. These will feature the connection point on the bottom of the enclosure to further minimize the risk of water infiltration.
Is the Reliance Q310C a good choice for my Generac XP7000E. My electrician indicates a need for a 20A 2pole and a 15A 2 pole as well as several single pole breakers. Are the replaceable breakers similar to the Murray that are so available.
Is the Reliance PB30 inlet box a good choice?

Answer
You cannot use the Q310C with the Generac XP generators. The control panel on the XP models is GFI protected so you must use a GFI type transfer switch. The Reliance Controls "X Series" switches are recommended. Here are a couple models and they are very versatile....
