Product QuestionsAnswered by Dale, the Lawn Mower Expert
Hi Todd-
Got a Echo SRM210 with a echomatic pro head. I'm getting tired of the Echo cross fire line. I'm just a homeowner, but do you recommend any great lines? I'm looking at oregon gatorline, but wasn't sure if I should get the green or the grey, round or square... Or if you think a better brand line please feel free to explain. Echo has .95 line. Do homeowners need .80?
Thanks
Mike

Answer
The Oregon line would be fine, but for the most part line is line. The only difference comes down to the size of line. The bigger the line, the better off you can be, but it will also depend on what size line your head can handle. Sometimes the bigger line won't feed through the head and then you are back to sqare one.
In terms of square line over round, this does not make too big a difference. A smaller 0.65 line is meant more for electrics while the 0.95 would be meant for gas. Another option would be the Oregon Nylium Starline. This is a more durable line with an aluminum additive to it.
Thanks,
Mowers Direct
