Answer
The Liberty model PRG101A is rated for 120V. If you need a 230V model, you would need to consider the PRG102A.

Hi Jim,
how long can the 2" discharge line be? in other words how far can the pump be located from the drain that will drain by gravity, pitch.
I am planning to install Liberty Pumps PRG101A - 1 HP ProVore® Residential Grinder Pump (2") w/ Piggyback Tether Float about 60 feet away from the house where eventually I plan to connect discharge pipe. the difference in elevation is about 4 feet but its about 60 feet away. is this pump going to work, or any other pump?? is there a min or max the discharge line should be before connecting to main house drain?? TIA Jim!!!

Answer
Thank you for your interest in Sump Pumps Direct. The Liberty model PRG101A will handle a total head lift of 50 feet with a 2" discharge line, so it would easily handle your application. Based on your description, most sewage pumps will handle a 5-10 foot head lift and a 25-60 foot horizontal run. If that horizontal run has an upward slope, you would need to figure in additional head lift or friction loss. Typically, sump and sewage pumps are designed to require a minimum 5 foot head lift directly off the pump and the total head will be noted within the pump specs. Horizontal runs can be a little more tricky since runs of over 75 -100 feet will create more friction loss (material makes a difference too, i.e. PVC, steel, copper, etc.) in addition to your discharge configuration and the number of 45 and 90 degree angles and unions that are used. In more complex configurations or extreme long runs, you would need to check a FRICTION LOSS CHART to verify what size discharge pipe you may need to increase to or see where you may need to increase the size of your pump.
