Accessory Hose Works Great
By Josef

I needed an accessory hose for an older model Karcher Pressure Washer that would enable me to take water from a barrel. Because it was an older model, I had to change the inlet connector for a standard female hose fitting which was easy to do. Pressure Washer Direct advised me of this requirement and provided an instruction on line.

Used the water suction hose at the lake to clean my boat--attached quickly, no special tools, built up suction immediately.
Allowed me to use the pressure washer with no inlet hose--terrific!

Suction Hose Doesn't alway suck

Southern California Drought drove me to the Karcher brand since it was the only power washer able to pull water from a portable source. Priming water to the PW was a small nightmare. Took a long time and was not always consistent if sometimes an air bubble would keep it from working at all.
Following these 2 tricks I found online made it easier to prime. (These tricks should have been in the manual.)
1. Keep water source above the PW when priming. (Basic principle of Physics.)
2. Remove wands from gun when priming. (This helps water flow and removes locked air.)
Hey Karcher! Adding a squeeze pump would solve this.

Does The Job But Could Be Better
By William L.

I bought this to power wash a dock using lake water. Karcher is the only manufacturer I know to have this option, at least for electric pressure washers.
The hose is nice, but has a lot of coil memory which limits its effective length. You have to weigh down or securely position the intake because the coiling wants to pull the intake to the surface.
Also, even though it has a built in filter (more of a coarse filter), you absolutely need the Karcher inlet filter (47300590) in my opinion if you are going to use lake water and don't want to damage your pump on the pressure washer. Priming takes a little while, filling up the hose first and then trying to remove air pockets and coax the water to prime by turning the unit on and off in short intervals so as to not overheat the pump.
Once primed, it worked fine. For my purposes it works, but it could be better.

Expert Response
Pulling water up against gravity is a difficult, and I appreciate your patience with the process. I think the extra filter is a good idea since protecting the pump from debris will keep it running longer.
There is a small handheld unit from Kranzle that can also self-prime; the K1622. it is more of a semi-pro unit and as such more expensive than the Karcher units, but it is also more durable since it can be run dry without damage.
