John Deere D105 Reviews & Ratings
Worst Product Ever!
By Rocky L.

John Deere lawn tractor or snow blower?? – What a nightmare! The John Deere lawn tractor and its snow blower are the worst products I have ever got! And the John Deere customer service is the worst one I ever have! I bought this John Deere lawn tractor D105 from Lowe’s and its snow blower from its dealer Green Tractor by its sales recommendation. Both products were broken almost every time when I used them. Within one year, many of their parts, including the battery, belt, grip, handle, spring, pins, rod, took turns to break, and finally the D105 engine was broken in the early second summer! In the winter, I could not finish even once for a completed snow blowing. I eventually had to ask to return the snow blower. After a long battle, the dealer finally took back the snow blower, but with my big lost. I paid them $3161, but got only $1745 refund. John Deere, its dealer Green Tractor, and Lowe’s refused to take back the crapping D105. They point their fingers to each other. Lowe’s told me I have to deal with John Deere. John Deere told me I have to deal with dealer. Dealer told me I have to deal with Lowe’s. As a result, I went into a dead loop. Not only that, John Deere dealer Green Tractor also charged me over $1000 to fix the above problems! Imaging these are blank new products, and they were within 1 year! Don’t you think this is enough??? Worst products, worst customer services, worst dealer! Avoid! Avoid!! Avoid!!!

Absolute garbage. Transmission went 1 month after warranty expired...JD Cust Serv would not budge. My mistake for not researching this before buying it. Lots of info out there that I missed. I trusted the JD brand. Never again

Great idea with the automatic transmission, but after 200 hours, it needs to have pulleys and belt replaced. I did it myself for about $150.00 ..... should have lasted longer. Went to dealer for advise and was told "they are junk" ...really from 2 separate employees....this will be my last one.....

Well I have had my D105 for 3 yrs and got a smoking deal on it from Lowe's. Someone bought it and returned it with less than 2 hrs. on the meter.

It does a great job on the lawn and pulled out some large bushes as well. I maintain it when ever the maintenance indicator comes on. Then tear it down completely every year and clean it all up sharpen blades and lube everything while changing filters.

The Last John Deere For Me
By Bill W.

I was an avid fan of John Deere until I bought this tractor a few years back. It was constantly in the shop with a problem of not wanting to start after heating up. The John Deere authorized service rep could never find the problem and kept charging me for unrelated repairs.

Finally a neighbor of mine discovered the problem, the fuel line is built too close to the engine, and when it heats up, it causes vapor locks. When I tried to get JD Customer Service (a joke) to repair this, they refused. My neighbor fixed the problem, I sold the unit and went to Cub Cadet. Never looked back. So long, once great company!

Horrible customer service
By Nicole J.

Review Posted 09/22/2016
I have had mine for four months and the belt keeps slipping. And then it just snapped. It's still under warranty and now they say the belt isn't and I have to bring it to get diagnosed. What?! And I have to pay for that only to see if I have misused it! Wow never again. This is horrible customer service and I have never been treated this way and never had a lawn mower I have paid so much for be so crappy.
