Grass Munching Machine
By Bill M.

Review Posted 10/31/2017
So, I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this mower and I found that most loved it, some . . . not so much. I was able to ascertain that the one's that didn't like it (like the guy that turned on a dime and complained that the rear tire was creating bald spots in his lawn. There are video's on YouTube that shows you how to make a proper turn on a zero turn mower) for the most part didn't learn how to use/drive the mower before posting a review. So I pulled the trigger and so far have not been disappointed . . . for the most part. The only adverse comment I have is that the Husqvarna MZ52 may be a bit under-powered for thick/tall grass lawns. I decided to mow not just my yard but my neighbors as well, as his is much thicker than mine. For the most part everything went well but in the thickest tall grass in his yard the mower died twice getting bogged down in tall grass. In order to get through it I had to slow to a crawl or come to a complete stop occasionally to keep it from dying. With that said, you might also take into consideration that I have installed the mulch kit on this mower which does not allow for the clippings to escape, so when running into a thick section it's probably getting pretty busy in there. To be fair, I'd guess that without the mulch kit it probably would've discharged clumps of grass out the side like any other. But if you plan on the installing the mulch kit I wouldn't go attempting to cut large swaths of thick grass. On the plus side, I keep my yard at a constant height and well maintained so mowing my yard was a breeze, and as this is fall the mulch kit did an outstanding job of chewing up grass clippings and loads of leaves in one pass!

Great Machine, Great Price

Very well built. Nice cutting machine. Have had some issues with the brake safely switch. It's not bolted on, so it comes loose at times. I don't care for the location of the controls. If your cutting around a lot of low hanging branches they tend to interfere with them. Leaning over towards the controls to get under branches has caused the pto to kick out. I trying to come up with some kind of guard to prevent all this. Overall it's a nice machine for the price.

Excellent Durability, Construction And Speed - Follow Up To May

Now that I am comfortable and familiar with the machine, it has exceeded all expectations. Regarding the problem many have mentioned about divots when executing zero turns, a major factor seems to be the large front casters - they don't swivel as readily as the narrower, lighter ones. I needed the larger ones due to some soft and uneven ground smaller casters often dug in. Keeping the casters very well greased helped this problem immensely very few divots when I keep them freshly lubricated and they swivel easily. Grass buildup on the underside of the deck can be a problem, but easily resolved with a thorough hosing off.

Great Mower
By Jason D.

Review Posted 08/23/2017
This mower has been great so far. This is my first zero turn, so it's taken a little getting used to, but it is saving me lots of time. The cut seems even. I bought the armrests as well, but they aren't really necessary for me to be comfortable. I had to adjust the tracking a little bit, but now it drives pretty straight with both bars full forward. The fab deck is very sturdy. The Kawasaki engine has ran with no problems. Only time will tell how this mower will hold up, but I don't have any doubts about the quality.

This mower met my expectations. It is a good mid-level mower and does a good job mowing my 3 acres not as good as my old commercial grade but well worth the money.

Husqvarna Does It Again!

Delivered in a crate that was bullet proof...even the shipper said it was the best packaging he's ever seen for something of this size.
I went to the MZ52 with the Kawasaki engine as I sold a 48" Husky rider with an 18 hp Kawasaki and loved its performance and ruggedness. The extra 5 hp on the 52" makes a world of difference and the MZ52 cuts more evenly than the 48" ever did...could be the difference in the decks.
Other reviews are accurate regarding zero turns at speed, as they will leave a divot, but hey, do doughnuts on the driveway. The safety features of "parking brake on and handles out" to start are fine once you get used to the procedure. There are two nice springs for the seat...don't know how the one guy missed them.
I mow +3A and have put on 9.4 hours in 2 weeks (April, when you can hear the grass grow) and have yet to find a fault...maybe the blades mentioned in the review from FL but maybe that person mows into the dirt.
BUY NOW, you won't regret it...my neighbor was ready to buy a ZT JDeere but changed her mind when she saw this bad boy...now we have twins!
Mowers Direct were great as was the ABF freight line they use a lot. I uncrated at their terminal, drove the mower onto my trailer, and saved the $50 lift gate charge.

February no grass

I guess I am impressed at the looks of it. It's February here in Missouri, and no grass to mow in dead of winter. Just started it up, backed it into the garage a month ago (in January), and that is it. Looks good.
