Why does your listed decibel rating not match other sites?
Joe
from Oregon
July 02, 2017
Answer
The decibel rating that we list is the level at the operator's ear; the rating that others list is the rating at 50 feet.

my company has a 150 bt unit. I need to know what gas and oil to use and the ratio.
thank you!
Susie
from South Carolina
November 22, 2013
Answer
Susie,
If possible, find any fuel with little to no Ethanol content. No more than 10%.
You will need to use a high quality 50:1 2-cycle engine oil. Look for any brand that is JASO-FD rated. It is about 2.56 oz of oil per 1 gallon of fuel.

The Husqvarna 150BT is advertised as "Professional" and the 350 BT is advertised as "Heavy Duty." What's the difference?
Mike
from Minnesota
October 27, 2013
Answer
You are getting a more commercially built unit with the 350BT. The commercial type housing leads to increased durability, and extended longevity over the 150BT. The housing is also what contributes to the increase in CFM (Air Volume) which is what you are looking for when you are moving leaves.

I have been looking at this model and there is a lot of different answers for the actual air velocity. One site says 251mph, this one says 112mph and then another site says 180mph. I am really in need of a blower that can handle over an acre of land that is covered in trees. But this air velocity thing needs to be cleared up!!!!

Answer
Erin,
I think that some of the sites you are going to are using correct specs, but they are giving the air speed of the blower with out any tubing to direct your airflow. Measuring speed without restriction will give you a higher number, but it isn't too helpful.
Here is the airspeed and CFM taken at the end of the tube attachment:
Air Speed (mph) 251
Volume of Air (CFM) 494
Now that I have cleared this up for you, I wish you the best in your fall clearing!

Joe, My question was the same as Question 1. So which is more powerful the 150 BT or the 350BT?
Joe
from Connecticut
September 29, 2013
Answer
Joe,
The 350BT was built to be used in more of a commercial setting as the 150BT was designed for residential.
You will find there are differences in the housing and durability with the 350BT that push it to be a bit more powerful than the 150BT

Considering Husqvarna 150 bt gas blower
PED says air speed --112mph/434 cfm
Husqvana website states air flow in housing 710 cfm & air speed 251mph
Which is correct?
Tom
from New York

Answer
Tom,
They both are. The difference is how and where the speed and velocity is recorded.
The "in housing" spec that you see in the owners manual is taken when all of the tubing is off of the machine directly at the housing. Why they post this escapes me a bit since all of that velocity and high volume of air mean very little if there is no concentration or direction of that air.
We took the liberty of posting the numbers that matter. We pulled the the speed and velocity with all of the tubing and reducers attached. These are the numbers when the machine is in use.
