Put it together. Added oil. Went to crank it couldn't pull the pull cord!!! Checked it out the blade adapter was bent so that the blade was bound to the deck.? Took it apart drilled tapped realigned it cranks but hits the deck. Took adapter off replaced with new one same problem!! Shaft for the blade adapter also warped sitting in garage not being used!! Husqvarna failed me on this one. That's all I buy too. Sometimes you just get a bad one.

Easy To Set Up and Start. Really Pulls Up Hill
By Lorens J.
Center City, Minnesota

Review Posted 08/12/2017
This mower replaced a Honda RWD that for 10 years always started on the first pull. This mower is better. It starts on the first 4 inches of the first pull. I bought the 4 WD mower because I have a lawn that drops off to a curb along one 50' stretch. I have to mow parallel to the curb but the 45 degree hill is too steep to walk. It's easiest if I can guide the mower walking above or below the line of the mower. At either end it needs to climb up to get the next cut. This mower does this perfectly. The only problem is the drive speed control. Wide open it goes too fast to walk comfortably but the design of the controls make it hard to engage at less than full speed. I wish there was an adjustment or governor that would take 15 or 20% of the top speed away. I've used the mower just twice so can't speak to durability or longer term reliability.

I was very surprised to see that there was no speed control other then the handle. This is definitely a safety issue. The mower needs to be reworked with an adjusted control. It should be controlled by an adjustment knob. Someone could get seriously hurt if they haven't already.

The manual states..."Self-propelling is controlled by hold in the brake handle down to the handle and pulling the drive bail upwards toward the handle. The further toward the handle the drive bail is pulled, the faster the unit will travel."
This is typical of many self-propelled walk behind mowers. To mow at a slower pace, do not pull the drive bail all the way up to the handle. Over time you'll find that operating this mower is very easy, after the slight learning curve.

I have had Husqvarna LC221A for a couple months and it was the best purchase I have made. It is a smooth operating mower with great cut of the grass.
You exercise while mowing without exerting yourself at all. Hope to be able to enjoy for years to come.

No one should operate this machine with a bad back or not having a magic touch in regulating speed bar and keeping it constant on turns and under brush. Manufacture should make available two or three speed settings not the grip bar. I certainly would never have purchased this machine if I had tried to operate/use it under operating conditions.
