Good machine for the money
By Matthew T.
Liverpool, New York
Review Posted 09/06/2016
I bought mine on sale at the big store for $299. I'm pleased with it. I use it for light commercial work which it isn't designed for. Awd is great. Adequate power. Starts one pull most of the time. I've had most of the issues I've seen in other reviews.

My issues with this machine:
Fuel tank is too small (maybe 1 hour if you're working it)
Dip stick difficult to access
No oil drain plug
Hard to pull backwards when you release the drive (you need to push it forward an inch first)
In certain damp conditions (only was doing this on one yard one day) the drive belt tensioners get clogged with grass and it keeps driving slowly after you release the drive handle

All in all a great machine for the money. I should be using a $800 for what I do with it but I wanted Awd and had to try this model for the price.

Check underneath!

Bought this mower as it appeared to be the 'one' I was looking for... Efficient design, B&S engine, pulling capacity. However, when I got it home and checked the underside there were two things that really sealed the deal for me deciding to return it. First, there is an overabundance of flimsy plastic for the chute.

Easy enough to replace years down the road (or sooner?), but that would have been on my mind each time I used it. Second, and MOST important is that the belt drive and pulley system were completely exposed. Visions of slippage, sticks/twigs causing belt breakage, and premature rust danced through my mind.

At that point, I didn't even put gas and oil in it to hear the pre power of the Briggs (insert sad face here). Oh well, will try something else...

Husqvarna LC221A

Bought on April 9. On the fourth use on May 23rd, the engine surged, made loud noise, and shook. It significantly lost power in 4-5 minutes. Maybe overheated. Air filter and engine oil all in fine condition.

Manufacturer Response
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with one of our mowers. What was the end result? Does it run fine now or are you still having problems?

Just purchased this mower and once I got it home I put it right to work. It's an awesome mower I was very impressed with it. It starts easily has great features that more expensive mowers have. My only gripe is it could use a touch more power but overall its a great mower.

Awesome mower

This is a great mower especially if you have a sloped yard. Don't believe the reviews of not having enough power it has plenty. There's one downfall the gas tank is not very big. I think it's no big deal especially for the quality of the mower.

Small, compact & lighter than most. Starting is a breeze and the all wheel drive will pull you right along Gas tank is small so refill a bit more often and oil cap does require a long large flathead. Thus far I've been pretty happy

Husqvarna lc221A 21" Self propelled walk behind lawn mower

Review Posted 04/17/2016
The oil dip stick was almost impossible to remove. And once we got it off and put oil in, it popped of twice while mowing. The all wheel drive handle has falling out twice. All this the first day we used this machine. Not happy at all with this product.

Have been using a Toro for years. This mower's drive system is much stronger. It starts easier (wife appreciates!), and bags better. May be a bit louder, but well worth it!

Weaker engine
By Kory T.
Roanoke, Virginia
Review Posted 04/11/2016
Assembly is easy. Only problem is the oil cap. It is hard to reach in to open it. I have to use a Chanel lock to loose it. No oil mixed with the gas.

Start to cut grass and realized the engine kept turning off. The grass is not that high. I should have gotten a stronger lawn mower.
