Not Reliable
By Larry

Review Posted 03/31/2015
I have the LGT 26 HP 54" Deck model. Had a rear axle completely twist in half, a $950.00 repair if you take it the shop to fix. Now the transaxle has gone out, $870.67 just for the replacement part if you do the remove and replace work yourself. Buy a different machine from Mowers Direct not the Husqvarna.

Hay field

I live on 3 1/2 acres of what use to be a hay field. This mower has all the power needed to take care of it. I had a 24/54 first and it was stolen so I replaced it with the 26/54. Although the 24/54 is a good machine too, I'm glad I upgraded to the 2 more hp.

Easy To Use, Price, I'd Buy It Again, Exceptional Mower

A workhorse

I purchased this tractor for my son as a replacement for his John Deere that bit the dust. He loves the design features that make it a very durable mower. The first time he used it to mow his 3 acres he called and said "Wow Dad, it cut an hour off my mowing time and it looks like a golf course. The deck mows so flat, no scalping or misses."
I am so glad I was able to buy this for him. He has congestive heart failure and was going to mow his grass with a push mower after his John Deere died.

Mulching baffles hard to keep on- rear end gone bad.
By Arthur C.

Review Posted 08/05/2013
My mower had the mulching baffles on the bottom of the deck. Could not keep the bolts in on the left hand side. They would wear out causing the baffle to drop down and start collecting debris leaving a tear in the grass. I finally had the thing welded on there and it solved the problems.
Recently, it didn't want to pull up the slightest incline. Checked it out and there was an oil leak coming out of the transmission on the rear end. Took it to the shop and was told it would cost $1000 to repair it. A $1000 for a lawnmower rear end!!! The mower is about 7 years old and I can't afford to spend that kind of money on repairing it when a new one can be purchased for about $2400.
Other than that it has been a good mower. However I probably wont purchase another one.

Cons:
Durability, Had Roar In Cutting Deck
Great For A Big Yard

I had other riders, none would cut as high as I wanted. This one does just what I want! I have the B&S engine and I'm fine with that, I have had many problems with the 'Courage' engine line. The B&S is a little slow to start but there has been no problem once it gets going. Driving is a bit awkward, mower having a transmission controlled by the right hand on a lever and RPM controlled by a dash setting and only a brake controlled by a left foot control. This combination leaves you controlling speed w/ right hand and steering with left hand alone... tricky. I recommend a steering wheel knob be added to this mower and it will likely be your favorite large yard (2 acre plus) mower!

Briggs & Stratton bad choice

Upgraded from a smaller Husky to this bad boy so I could enjoy the 42' front mount snow blower I bought with it. Unit came with the 27 horse B&S engine. Just a couple tweaks last summer during lawn season, no biggy. Last winter in the worst snow storm we'd seen in years, this machine quit. Some electronic do-dad went bad. OK, I have my big 10 horse walk behind, I got by for a few days 'til the dealer brought my tractor back. No charge, by the way. We have had a ton of rain this lawn season and my 2 acres are growing at about 2in per day. 10 days ago this machine simply quit. Dead. Same problem. I told the salesman/shop owner to go ahead and fix it, but I would not take it back. I traded it for the same rig but the new one has the Kawasaki engine. I'll never buy another implement with a B & S engine. P.S. the Husky mower deck is the best out there! Just stay away from Briggs & Stratton!!

Strong, Fuel Efficient and Comfortable Ride

I have had this 2011 mower for two years now and it continues to amaze. I have just over 140 hours and no complaints. I recommend adding the mulch kit.
I have also added the arm rests. Check the side of your mower seat. If you have the 3 small pre-drilled holes on each side, chances are they fit your mower. The arm rest part number is 532 42 14-99 and although it is for the RZ Series Zero Turn Mowers, I had read that it will also fit other mowers. It sure fit mine and was easy to install.
I mow 2 acres in just over an hour. For the smoother ride, set the tire pressure as they recommend in the owner's manuel. This mower is more comfortable and powerful than any I have ever owned. I have had tractors of other colors and this Husqvarna is my favorite.

Young widow (in my mind) needed a new rider.

I have been nickle and dimed to death the last 3 years with mowers almost as old as me! Love both those old Simplicity tractors, but knew I needed to upgrade. Being a widow, financially I just could not swing the money for a new Simplicity. I figured my husband's voice in my head would be pleased sticking with a brand he trusted. (Figuratively speaking only!) He owned a Husky chainsaw for over 35 years that held up so well, so still trusted his former judgment with the brand. I also remember how he praised Kohler engines, and right before he died, he informed me to look for one that had that brand. Three years later I actually recalled his words of wisdom, so I am hoping that this mower is an excellent investment.
