This aerator worked very well, sturdy and well made. Did the job as well as when I had a private lawn company do my lawn.

good choice for the price but....

After reading reviews, I purchased for 3 reasons. I own a Husqvarna tractor mower, price and the wheels are behind the unit rather than beside it. Shipping was fast. Quality is good except for the wheel/hub assembly. The wheel bearings were so poor they would not even turn when mounted to wheel bracket. Rather than hassle with warranty, purchased new wheel bearings at local part store and installed myself (approximately $12.00 total). Fairly easy for me, I'm a mechanic. The aerator works well with 150 lbs. of weight on top for the desired depth of 2 inches.

Received the tool in time promised (1 week). Box was in rough shape, but all contents were there and no damage to parts.
Assembly instructions are not crystal clear, so I had to disassemble about 1/3 of the tool and "flip" a part to get the arm that allows you to raise/lower the tool to work. Took me about 2-hours to assemble. Aside from the instructions, my only surprise (complaint?) is the amount of grease it took to fill the rotating spike hubs (2+ small tubes of grease).
The tool is sturdy and heavy. If taken care of, should last 15 to 20 years (or more). You can raise/lower the tool from the seat of a garden tractor, but only if it is not weighted to increase penetration. That said, it was reasonably easy to raise/lower when weighted with 120 pounds (4 cinder block).
I used the tool to aerate 1-acre lot a few weeks ago. Loaded with 4 cinder blocks, the tool did a very good job penetrating the ground (ground not hard or soft). This tool is not as good as a power aerator rented from Home Depot (no surprise), but it did a good job.
Given the cost of the tool vs. rental, it will pay for itself in a few seasons (not to mention I won't be exhausted after fighting a power tool for 5 hours). I am very happy with this purchase.

Solid and happy with my selection

I looked over a lot of other aerators for home use. This one seems more solid than the others. As an example, the hitch has an additional reinforced bar supporting it to prevent it from bending. Some others have had reported issues with the tow bar getting bent when backing up. This one is rated with holding more weight than the other similar brands.
It has all solid steel spindles which some of the other brands had some plastic components that people reported they would break. The other thing i like about this unit is the wheels aren't on the outside, they run behind. That allows it to take up less space when going between tight areas. It also has grease fittings which you would expect. I ordered four 6 gallon water jugs for weights and strapped them down. I have a 15hp zero turn mower which was able to pull it just fine.
