Product QuestionsAnswered by Jim, the Water Pump Expert
The product description states a "strainer" comes with this pump. Please describe. Also what inline filter and screen size filter would you suggest be used with this pump if being used to withdraw water from a pond or creek?

Answer
Thank you for your email Carl! All Honda gas powered pumps include a suction strainer similar to THIS that are sized based on the allowable solid handling size that the given pump can handle. This strainer gets attached onto to the suction hose end that is in the pond, creek or any other water source you may be utilizing. These strainers will have the same size threaded NPT connection as the suction and discharge ports on the pump you purchase.
Since this strainer is included, there is really no need to include any other inline filter when using this pump.

How long will it run on a tank of gas?
Brent
from Alabama
November 08, 2016
Answer
That's a hard question to answer Brent and there really isn't a way to gauge it. Run times are based on how easy or how hard the engine is running. If you're pumping a short distance with minimal head lift, you may see about 2 to 3 hours of run time, but if you're pumping very long distances and requiring a lot of lift, that may dwindle to 60 - 90 minutes of run time. You might equate it to how you drive your car? If you accelerate fast and brake the same and often, your gas mileage suffers. It's the same with any gas powered piece of equipment. The harder you work it, the less run time you will realize.

at the max psi of 61 what would the GPM be for this pump?
Eliot H
from California
March 24, 2015
Answer
At max psi of 61 & 140' of head, the GPM for the Honda WH20 2" High Pressure Pump would be zero. The highest recommended head/psi would be more like 125' of head which equates to 51PSI and approximately 35GPM. This information can be found on page 8 of the PRODUCT SPECS. Typically, you want to work the pump within the middle 2/3 of the product performance curve.
