Hi Joe, I'm in the market for a great corded string trimmer. I see you recommend the GreenWorks 15" electric. I've owned many, including top named brands and find that none of them have a string dispenser that's worth a damn! They all get hung up and tangled inside requiring mega time wasted on untangling and/or restringing the double string wind up spool, not to mention the string wasted! Does this trimmer handle the line any better? Looking for an honest positive answer before buying. Thanks Joe. Vance, San Benito, TX

Answer
Vance,

You said what many are thinking! The biggest pain in the neck is having a spool that does not deliver line well.

Most of the corded models out there trim with a auto-feed head. This means, line is magically released to the appropriate length when needed via a tiny motor and sensors. If you ask me, that is asking way to much from a trimmer head.

I have way more success in a bump-feed system like you would find in this Greenworks model:

Greenworks - 21142

Less for me to have to repair or maintain is always going to be a better tool in my book. Plus you have the option to add attachments from the accessories tab to turn this trimmer into exactly what you need for not a whole heck of a lot of dough.
