  1 Question
Q: Hi Nick, I have several questions. The first deals with lithium-Ion aspect: Am I right by saying, "No gas, no cables, no batteries?" Can one recharge it? How long does the recharge last? Finally, do you switch on and press a trigger to operate?
by Paul Sexton from Texas on March 11, 2014

A: Paul - a lithium-ion product does require a battery pack in order to operate. You are correct when you say "no gas, no cables", but this saw would require a Greenworks 40-volt lithium-ion battery in order to run. The battery would supply the power to the saw. The lithium-ion battery pack is rechargeable - the saw itself is not. For this particular model, one would choose the model 20322 if you already have another Greenworks tool that uses a 40-volt lithium ion battery and you simply wanted a chain saw to use with the battery you already own. If you don't have another Greenworks 40-volt lithium-ion tool already, then you'd want to choose the model 20312 - which includes a battery and a charging stand. Run time varies from 20 to 45 minutes depending on the type of wood you are cutting, and how wet or dry that wood is. There is a trigger switch on the inside of the hand grip that you would press in order to "turn the saw on". You would release the trigger switch to "turn the saw off".

The Future Is Battery Power
I have taken over 30 trees down with the 16" Greenworks battery powered chainsaw, it has performed more than I expected, its good quality and good power. I would recommend it, you won't be disappointed,

Not Too Happy With The Service
I bought one of these and the chain oil pump never worked from day one. Getting help from the factory is useless. The oil pumps are back ordered. There is no manual override pump so the saw just sits there taking up valuable space. This is the first chainsaw in ten that has given me a problem.
