My husband found this online as I have been looking for a small, light weight, non gas chainsaw. I said I would give it a try.
The first 5 minutes I knew it was perfect for me and all of the needs of a chainsaw for me.
I would do it all over again.

Good Saw but leaks oil
By Richard K.

I got this chainsaw new. I first put about 3 tablespoons of oil in the reservoir (it filled it). Then I used the saw for about 20 minutes. I put it down on my work bench and left for about 2 hours. Upon my return almost all the oil had leaked out on the bench top.
I had seen this complaint from other buyers about this saw from Greenworks. My solution is to only put a small amount of oil in that you plan to cut with and pour out what is left after use and store the saw empty.

I have been using chain saws for over 40 years, so, I feel my assessment is accurate as compared to gas powered chain saws. Getting right to the point, this saw has a marketplace. As stated in the headline, it is whenever and wherever you do not want the noise of the gas powered saw. The 10 inch version does not begin to compare with the performance of a similar gas version. To be specific, the chain does not run as fast which promotes the saw grabbing small cuts of 1/2 inch or less, i.e. clearing small interfering undercover.
Also, slower means more patience as it takes more time to make the cut. It also means that at the beginning of the cut the saw may bounce around a bit before finally taking a directional cut. This can be essentially eliminated by making the cut close to the base of the chain. I got about 30 minutes out of the battery. You may get more depending on the diameter of the limbs you cut. I cut about four up to 6 inches. The rest were half to 3 inches.
On one occasion the chain jumped the bar. I think this was due to not monitoring the expanding of the chain as it heats up due to continuing use. Once replaced and adjusted, it did just fine until the battery exhausted. If you are use to a gas powered saw, this saw will take some adjusting to. Do not expect it to do the job in the woods of limbing a felled tree. However, this saw will save you many potential complaints in areas where a gas saw can be offensive.
I have not tried a battery powered saw before but have been following the progress of development over the last few years. They serve a purpose in a specific niche currently, but, to truly compete with a gas saw, the chain will have to run muuuch faster and the battery last about twice as long. Otherwise the best use is around the house for trimming, etc. in the neighborhood of housing development. For the price, be sure to get at least one extra battery, I would hope that continuing development of technology will enable the price/performance ratio to be reduced.

The chain saw does not rotate fast enough with a brand new battery. It labors to cut a 2" diameter branch.

Portable orchard chainsaw

Some tree branches are two large for our lopping sheers, but yet don't warrant carrying a gas chainsaw and hand pruning saws add to the arm fatigue. This battery operated saw is ideal for our on and off saw operation.
