Earthquake CS4116 Reviews & Ratings
Great saw

I haven't had it long, but over a week. It cuts great, good power. Just give it gas then start cutting. I cut several trees 6 1/2 to 9 1/2 trimmed. Even my 13 year old son cut some. So if a 13 year old can use it, come on guys, get one and have a meaningful weekend. I went through 7 tanks of gas and 4/5 oil bar tanks. I am a home owner and I am disabled.

Earthquake CS4116 is a Very Good Saw

At 41cc, this is an excellent size for the homeowner. It has good power and its light weight ... these are big winners for the homeowner. For its price, it has nice features ... bucking spike, adjustable oil delivery rate, variable ignition timing, primer bulb for ease of starting. It is a lot of saw for the money.
Understand that EVERY saw in this price class is mostly an injection molded plastic body ... why do you think its light? The engine is a good cylinder on frame design ... not a clam shell as is extremely common. It is equipped with a good quality (but not the best) Oregon bar and chain. The key to cutting and your safety is using a sharp chain ... this saw will do the work for 99% of homeowners.
If you want a pro saw ... expect to spend about 3 times the price.

The Earthquake 41cc is a disaster

This chainsaw is the worse brand that I have ever owned. The safety is made out of cheap plastic and is barely held together. I would not recommend this saw to anyone. Save your money for a more durable saw, but stay away from the Earthquake.

I haven't had this chainsaw long, but I read the instructions through completely as advised, assembled the saw just as described in the video on Earthquake's support site, slightly adjusted the chain oil level, and went to work on about 9 pine trees that had threatened to demolish my fence after the first snow this winter.

The trees I cut were as small as a couple inches in diameter to as big as 5 and a half inches. That's not a tough task, but I have to admit, this saw cut them down so easily and quickly, it made me wonder why I second-guessed myself for not buying a more traditional name brand.

I've borrowed chainsaws for just this sort of work on many occasions. I've used a Craftsman, a Poulan and an Echo. I admit up front that since I borrowed them, it's safe to assume each of those were older and used, but this saw far outperformed those, and I could not be more happy with my purchase!

Also-- Read that manual. It's not long and it covers everything a casual user like me would need to know. The video is especially helpful, not just for assembly but for knowing how to start it properly. It took me 4 pulls to start it the first time. I've flooded a different kind not knowing how to start it right and had to wait an hour to try again and start it successfully. This one starts SO easy! The only thing I can add to what Earthquake has already provided is to watch the on switch. It's easy to accidentally switch off as you go to grip the trigger handle. Other than that, the only way this could start more easily is if it were a key start.

If any of my friends are in the market, I'm steering them straight to this saw, and I'll even let 'em give mine a test run to prove my point.

Lacking Power
By Chester K.

Saw looks good and got a good deal on it but it doesn't have the power I think it should have. Any way to adjust the carburetor to get more power or is it just weak on power.
