What's The Width Again? Who Measured?
By Doug
Maryland
Purchased 11/13/2023 |
Review Posted 12/10/2023
So I wanted a new lawn mower and Mowers Direct had a pretty good clearance sale at the end of the year. Obviously, I'm not using it until next year, so I can't really rate the performance. What I can say though, is somebody's tape measure is WRONG.
I measured my door opening, twice, then reviewed the specifications twice. Very clear, 34" in width, yay - it'll fit through the opening in my shed.
Ordered the mower, delivered fairly quickly, uncrated it and left it in my garage for several weeks. Rolled it out back today to put it in the shed and wth, won't fit through the door. Took out my tape measure again, checked the door opening and everything looked good. Measured the decking, UT OH, greater than 35".
Now I have a mower that won't fit in the shed. I've gotten rid of the old mower, what to do? The only thing I can summarize is to cut out the shed door and replace it with another. Money saved on the EOY sale will be overspent with the time and on money necessary to retrofit the shed.
I write this review with average ratings due to the headache this mower will now cause me. If they can't measure the width correctly what else might be wrong? Very disappointed.

This lawn mower is a beast that will mow pretty much through any high grass. The only issue is I wish that there was a silky available for this mower.

Not Happy

I think it's a great lawnmower...once I had it serviced. It came to me with dull blades and barely greased. The wheels seized up on me 15 hrs into use. Found no grease in the bolts. I blame PED, the company that sent me the lawnmower. Also, the build of this lawnmower is inconvenient. The battery connections are so hard to get to. I'm just annoyed with the process and the way this lawnmower came to me. Also, in the shoot where the grass discharges, that piece needs to go up and lock somehow for storage. It doesn't.

Poor Assembly

Review Posted 06/27/2023
First off it took over a month to ship me this mower. Then I finally got the thing delivered and see that one of the bolts that holds the front wheel and driveshaft is not screwed in all the way. So I think no big deal and try to tighten it. We'll they cross threaded the bolt during assembly and ruined the threads. Real fun having to fix a brand new mower that should of never went out the door with a quality check. Don't buy from this place if your looking for a mower this season or next.

Very sorry you received your mower in that condition. Cub Cadet provides a 3-Year Warranty on the mower. The issue you described would have been taken care of under warranty. For technical support, Cub Cadet can be reached directly at 888-402-9100

On May 22, I purchased a Cub Cadet CC800 (33") 344cc Electric Start Wide Area Self-Propelled Lawn Mower Model: CC800 from Mower Direct. The mower arrived May 23 however, one of the four knobs was missing. Immediately I called Mower Direct and they filed a New Shipping Issue--LMD348602. It took four to seven days for an answer. Today May 25th, it has been since May 23rd that I have been able to use my lawn mower because of this problem. I am very disappointed with my purchase which cost me $2500 therefore, a knob should not take four to seven days for an investigation.

Great Machine

I love this machine. A little more to handle than a normal residential mower but once you get the hang of it you’ll love it. Cuts high grass easily, and starts easily. Does a large lawn quickly. Everything I wanted!

I've never seen such a wimpy low-grade soft steel deck on an application such as this is supposed to be intended for. Underwhelmed. Too bad, especially for the price!

Mower Shipped Very Fast

Mower shipped very fast but was received without mulch. Plug, instructions, and keys I was told that I had to prove that the missing parts did not come with the lawn mower all while running my business. Mowers Direct after 4 lawn mowers that I have purchased from you please do a better job for your customers I know you did not build it but you have to stand behind it and make it right by me thank you.

CUB CADET CC800

Just had it delivered last week and used once. This is a great machine. Easy to set up although the battery is a little tough to hook up because not much room to work w/ and wiring requires it to be in place when bolting on the positive and negative but not a big deal.

CC800

Had one of these for many years. It's a very good mower for blowing through very tall even wet grass with the side discharge. It excels at that IMO and nothing comes close for the price for that application. I is very powerful. If you are fussy about clippings a second pass with the mulch kit installed to tidy things up works very well too. If you have a large yard and the grass sometimes gets away from you this is a viable option instead of a tractor. As far as bagging goes, I would not recommend that with this unit. There are better choices for that.
