Q: I have trouble pulling the cord on gas engines. Does this model have an electric start? If not, can you recommend a good not too heavy backpack model that does?
by Maribeth from New Hampshire on November 01, 2013

A: Maribeth,

I have the answer for you! The only backpack blower with an assisted electrical start is made by Troy-Bilt. This is a lightweight, high powered backpack blower built for both cleaning efficiency and comfort of use. You can also purchase an electric starter to engage the recoil start directly on the engine. Please click on the links below to find information on both of these products:

Q: How much does this blower weigh?
by Donna from Ohio on October 06, 2013

A: Donna,

The 41AR2PEG912 weighs 17.8 Lbs.

Q: Does this model just blow or does it have the vacuum feature as well?
by Pam Dillon from Kansas on October 05, 2012

A: Pam - none of the backpack blowers have a vacuum option. They would all be strictly blowers. If you are looking for something with a vacuum option, you would need to look at a hand held model instead of a backpack model.

Not What I Expected.
On the plus side: very little assembly necessary, light weight, and easy to operate.
Cons: Less power than any gas blower I've used. It didn't have hardly any more power than my electric blower. I was very disappointed. If it weren't for the no return policy, I would send it back and spend more money for a bigger blower.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Light Weight
Cons: Poor power

Good Blower
Hard to put on my back....as an older citizen, I need clips to unhitch , even on one side, to be able to mount the unit on my back without lots of uncomfortable twisting and contorting! But the unit is not over-powerful, and runs well.

So Far - So Good
I received my Cub Cadet Leaf Blower about 3 weeks ago. I have used it 3 times and I find it comfortable to wear but somewhat cumbersome to use.

I think this will improve as time goes on and the weather is warmer which would allow the plastic nozzle and elbow to be more flexible. The only real complaint I have with it is the inability to position the nozzle to blow in the direction I want it to blow. It sits in my right hand and this makes it difficult to get into areas on my left side.

Small But Powerful
I own all Cub Cadet power equipment (lawn tractor, snow blower, push mower, string trimmer, back pack blower). No problems with any of them. First unpacked blower, thought it was way to small. Assembled it in about 10 minutes. Fueled it up and started no problem. This unit blows perfect for my driveway and small yard. 150 mph is great over the end of the driveway with smaller lime stone. Doesn't blow the stones away just the leaves unless you get to close. Lite weight, easy to start, not noisy,... more

A Cub Disappointment
I purchased the Cub back pack blower and I like the way it was built, and it was comfortable and seemed durable but didn't start. When I finally did get it started I was taken back because the blowing power was disappointing. My small Stihl hand held blower out blew the Cub. At first I thought maybe something was wrong so I took it back, and they checked the blower, and made sure it was functioning properly. I tried it again same thing. The Cub has a very long handle and tube and looks to be a... more

Very Good For The Price
The only issue that I have is that the flexible section of the blow tube is very stiff - a rubber or softer connecting piece would make it easier to use. Also the offering of an extension to the hose between the backpack and the controller would be great for tall operators like me as when using it for an extended period of time, my arm cramps up, but this is true on all of these units.
Pros: Easy To Use, Price, Reliable, Easy To Store
