I was in the market for a 4 cycle unit and this item seems about the best in that department.

Very disappointed

We purchased the BC509 in March 2014. I thought we were getting two shafts, one with the trimmer and one with brush cutter. My bad for not researching this more. Changing between the two features requires a special tool (included) but is a pain. So while disappointed, we did get to work, and WHEN it works, it works fine. The problem is in design of down shaft where the anti-rotation screw connects the trimmer head. The vibration caused the screw to strip out the hole thus making the head unstable and flip around. Since it completely stripped out, we had to take it for warranty repair - only four months old and it was used only on periodic weekends. So it is still in for repair after a week and no word when we will get it back. So in my opinion, if I had to do it all over, I would get something else.

Starts easy, has the power to cut 1/2" brush, price was good for a string/brush cutter, and it a four stroke no mixing gas/oil.

WORST POS EVER

This was the worst purchase ever .... the poorest design - the pull start is located BETWEEN the engine and shaft - and the "nut" holding it in place is pressed sheet metal and it screws onto PLASTIC- this makes it IMPOSSIBLE to change/ repair- cheapest built piece of crap I have ever used and/or worked on.

They really need to send this survey out a month or two later. I used it for the first time today. It ran very sporadic for the first 15 minutes. After that it ran a lot better.
