It was delivered assembled, on time, and well protected by the crate. I've only used it twice so far, but it runs nicely and gives a nice even cut.

Awesome Machine!

Review Posted 09/29/2020
The Lawn Tractor arrived at my home in perfect condition, with only one slat on the crate broken. The assembly of the front bumper, leveling of the deck, and decreasing the tire pressure took about an hour after removing the crate. The following comments may be helpful to other purchasers:
1. The instructions in the manual for leveling the deck side-to-side imply that it is a simple task. Not so, as it is nearly impossible to measure the distance from the blade to the floor for the left blade, because it is obscured by the deck itself. I finally just measured the distance from the bottom of the deck to the floor.
2. It is important to change the oil after 5 hours of operation, as stated in the manual. What is not stated, is the need to change the oil filter as well, since it contains a lot of metal particles from the engine. I changed the oil at 5.6 hours, and there was a noticeable amount of silver flecks in the oil.
3. The tires are intentionally over-inflated by the manufacturer so that if the machine sits in storage for a long time before being purchased and the tires lose pressure, they won't go flat. My mower's tires were at 35 psi recommended pressures are 14 psi front, 10 psi rear.
4. The engine backfired and ran rough when first started, and sometimes missed during operation. The spark plug gaps were at 0.025". I reset them to 0.028" which solved the problem. The troubleshooting guide in the manual is helpful in this regard.
5. I mow about 1 acre of pasture grass when it is about 8" tall. This mower does a fantastic job of cutting and ejecting the grass out the chute about 4 - 6 feet.
6. The cleanup with the water connection works reasonably well. I follow that up with a complete cleaning of the machine with compressed air at 50 psi, both on top and underneath. With the grass wet under the deck, it is easy to remove the clods of grass with the air.
7. I appreciate the open construction of the steering mechanism, as it is easy to clean with compressed air.
8. The seat is very comfortable and easily adjusted.
9. The cruise control makes mowing a breeze, and provides relief for my right foot!
10. Overall - a great investment and a powerful mower. I own three Cub Cadet mowers, and this is the best of the bunch.

This is my 2nd order with Mower's Direct and everything went great. 10 years ago I got a Generac generator (still running) and this time a Cub Cadet lawn tractor. Delivered a week early with no damage. A little challenging getting the mower un-crated by myself, but no big deal...Hint: Sawzall! I only have 4 hours on her but she runs and cuts like a champ. My wife likes to mow so she'll get the new mower (pretty much) and I'll do the ditch with my 12 year old Craftsman. Perfect for our 1 acre lot.

Very quiet compared to my previous Craftsman Riding Mower. Cuts very well and the steering radius is awesome. The only critique I would give is the lack of a spare key. IF you lose this key initially you are screwed. Concerned about the power over the years going up grades but I will see down the road.

Happy Mower

We shopped around and read many professional and individual reviews and checked prices at other retailers on Cub Cadet mowers before deciding to purchase one from Mowers Direct. My husband was set on the 42in with the 22HP motor for our needs, but it was not available at any retailers new us, so we ordered from Mower Direct. It was delivered within a week without any damage from shipping and my husband wasted no time getting it un-crated and was mowing within a few hours. We have only had it for about a month so I can not attest to mechanical issues, but my husband it happy with the features. What I do know is that my one acre yard looks amazing!

Its great! It arrived in perfect condition without a dent or scratch on it. Runs great works great.. Only the alignment was way off! I had to mess around with the ball-joints, but I got it right thanks to U TUBE!!! Maybe I could get a free Cub-cadet hat and gloves for my trouble.

It's a workhorse... the bagger system is a must! I bent a blade mowing 2 foot high weeds.. that was my bad.. no issues otherwise. The only thing I wish I bought was the electronic fuel injection one but it's not necessary.

Not Put Into Service As Yet... It's Winter Time In The NE

Have NOT put this purchase into service as yet... waiting on Springs arrival. I'm chomping at the bit to see how it performs. Will review once I put it to the test! The sale/shipping and crating of the mower was, in my opinion, outstanding! Crate, pallets, and mower were all protected from the transit weather being wrapped in a heavy gauge plastic including the underside of the pallet! Could not have asked for any better shipping experience!
